A new Black Widow
« on: July 27, 2006, 03:24:47 PM »
Me and my dad have both been bowling for along time and had a average of around 175. Now we both got a hammer black widow. It is a really hard ball to get the hang of and understand the hooking. ANyways, does anyone out there have any advice on this ball? Cleaning/polishing it with it being the matte finish? And about how many games we should bowl to get the hang of it.

I would recommend that you bowl about 6 games with it to get a good feel for the ball, that what I do when I get a new ball and you can clean it ebonite ball cleaner to keep the surface clean. The cleaner just cleans it won't change the suface finsh.

Hope I helped!

Judge: Please tell the court your name....

Me: The SuperHitMan.....

Judge: On accounts of claiming to be "Good at what you do" and "bowling and carrying  well with hand" how do you plead.......

Me: Guilty

Judge: Before sentencing is there anything you would like to say to the bowling court.....

Me: I'm not sorry that every bowler that I do not bow down to and praise them like they are gods because I don't say that they are better than me took my confidence as cockyness, and people that don't have hand that down talk people with hand are idiots that includes you to Judge Nohand

Judge: Bailiff get him out of my court room

Tommy Jones: Let me guess your in for "bowling and carrying with hand" right?

I have seen two in action and was very impressed with the reaction shape.  It's kind of different than most balls I have ever seen.  Kind of like a banana arc that is very strong.  You don't see this on many balls.

I had a KI pearl that gave me a reaction similar to what I seen from the BW.  I know that it was probably a toned down version of that kind of shape.

I think that once you get some more games on it you will get used to iT.  How many games is hard to tell.  That would be up to your skill.

From the looks of that type of arc the BW looks to be a very good inside line type of ball.  That's my opinion though.
