ASB: Quick No Mercy Review
« on: October 04, 2006, 09:58:36 AM »
Bowler Profile:
RH Cranker
4 3/4 x 1/8 Down PAP
High Rev Rate
Medium/High Speed

Ball Specs:
2-3 Pin, 3 3/4 TW
Box Finish

Layout:
Pin Over Bridge, MB in Strong Position
(Not the recommended Bag layout per Hammer Instruction)
5" Pin

Conditions:
Typical fresh house shot (wall)

Obversations:
Always excited for a new Hammer release with as well as the Doom and
Black Widow are selling.   With this layout the ball was very long
down the lane and very smooth on the backend.   Compared it to similar
layouts on the Infinite One (box finish, earlier roll), Black Widow
(polished, a little sooner on the lane and a whole lot more angular)
and a Pain (max polish, pin under fingers and cg in simliar position).
We noted that with this layout that the Pain and the No Mercy rolled
nearly the same.   Impressive piece.  Highly recommended.  I do recommend
that you lay it out according to the box instructions for a more strong
and violent reaction.  Our ball tester didnt need the extra help in hooking
the ball!

Thanks again and if you have any questions or if interested in one
please feel free to PM me here or at allstarbowling@aol.com or at
info@allstarbowling.com

Thanks,
Joe

Very strange that someone would take a ball like the No Mercy and not drill it for max reaction.. I would not be happy if the NM rolled like the Pain when that ball cost $50 bucks less.. Oh well, to each his own.

The No Mercy I am getting will be drilled for max reaction, I do know that..

Alas.....I am no longer allowed here under that pseudo name....but as much as I admire setting high goals....make sure they are ones you don't need a step ladder to reach!!

Well, I guess Jason has a No Mercy then, eh Joe. I can tell by the profile and how he laid it out. I'll have to ask him about it. Thanks for the review.

Just to clarify.....the marking on the ball is heart shaped, and does NOT indicate the location of the MASS BIAS.  This is the HART indicator and should not be confused as a MB.   Confusing this with a MB and drilling it as such may result in an undesired reaction.

So I take it there's another marking for the MB?  That's why the Heart makes it look like it's a lable layout on the pic?

chi,

There is no other marking on the ball for the MB.  The heart logo is marking the mid rg and not the high rg like on asymmetrical balls.  Thus the reason the recommended drilling is to put the heart to the left of the thumb as this is marking a different location.

And Joe,
You know better not to listen to Damon, don't you???

LOL

I actually didnt drill it.  JW did and he was in such a hurry to put
holes in it that he didnt stop for a second in order for Damon to
tell him otherwise!   I am confiscating the ball and redoing it for
my hand and will post a 2nd review shortly of it with the proper layout.
