Best Hammer for floods?
« on: March 03, 2004, 10:05:05 PM »
Hey Hammerheads,

I'm looking for Hammer's best offering for flooded conditions. I'm talking about soup from foul line to pin deck, no dry to grab onto whatsoever. Let me know what your thoughts are.

I had the Big Blue and Vicious Strike and I personally like the Vicious much better in heavy oil than the Big Blue..

If they only made a ball that would carry that d*mn 10 pin..

My Big Blue is not really a great oiler ball.  For this condition, I would throw a sanded Diesel Particle ball.  Reason:  aggressive coverstock, low rg to get it rolling sooner, and it is not dependent on skid/flip reaction, once turning it should keep on coming through the pins.  Scott

g_thing,

You also never saw me throw the Vicious Strike in oil (because I sold it like I do every ball I get, LOL!!) and I am telling you it moved more than any of the diesels I have had and you know I have had them all..

Although you are correct about my big blue, I have seen others use it and read about that ball and its not the heavy oiler that Hammer marketed it to be..

I do slightly agree with you as far as the Sledgehammer. Its a good "old school" Hammer..

Gotta agree with G_thing about the Spike HPT. This ball has been seeing alot of playing time as of late in the soup. Talking flood all the way down. My Spike cuts through it with ease. Ball seems to flare at least 6"! Great carry also. If you can find one, I highly recommend this ball for the heavy stuff.
