Big Blue or...
« on: February 15, 2005, 06:59:14 AM »
Brunswick Nemesis or V2 Strong/R?  I don't know which ball will fit my style better.  Ball speed about 14.5mph with around 360 revs.  I wanna play a little deeper and more smooth arc and less skid-flip.  Lanes are either THS or very oily.  I know the balls aren't comparable in the respective lines, but they are all at my price point.  Any suggestions are appreciated.

I'm leaning towards the Nemesis.  I probably should've specified - I'm buying the ball from www.babowlingstore.com - they have good deal with drilling and they've done me good with the 3 balls they've drilled for me in the past.  Nemesis is $110, V2 Strong/R is $129, and Big Blue is $136.  Actually I think I have 10% off coupon somewhere, so prices are a little better.

I could probably add Sharp Blade, Saw Blade, Switch Blade, and probably the High Rev in the mix too.  I just need to keep the total price under $150.  I just moved down to 14lb, so I need to build an arsenal.

Any suggestions as to pin placement, top weight, etc, or a drilling layout?

My Track Thrash is more skid-flip, and Obsession is smooth, but sometimes too much for the lane conditions.  I'm getting the Velocity plugged and re-drilled to see if I get a better reaction.

i like my big blue its my control ball and its arc monster its not that bad of ball but its not whats hot at this time, i also have rule which i love and can be used on most mediums its more explosive and and has some length for being a dull ball, they might start to early for you im thinking the big blue for sure.

I have 2 big Blues and like the hit of each, but for lots of oil, try to find a Diesel particle, or even a Power Diesel.  I also had a V2 strong (not /R) and it hooked about 3 boards less than a Big Blue.  Sharp Blade would be good too, should be about 15% less than a BB.  Can't go wrong with Hammers!!

Thanks everybody for the suggestions.  I decided on the Nemesis.  I should be getting it drilled up on Monday.
