Black Widow - name
« on: November 10, 2006, 03:34:56 AM »
Hi:
Anyone know why is the Black Widow call "Black Widow"?
Did Hammer just came up with this name randomly or there's a story behind it?

Love this ball so much that I want to find out more about it...

Thanks

There is a "real" story behind it ... HOWEVER, I don't want to ruffle any feathers or start a firestorm about it; suffice it to say that I know the truth.
(That's my story and I'm stickin' to it) !!!

Why does any ball company call any ball any particular name?

When you get right down to it, "Black Widow" sounds cool.  The BW spider is a dangerous little critter.  And they can put a big red spider logo on the ball, which also looks cool.

Frankly, now it seems odd that no one has come out with such a ball until now.  Must be Hammer's new "bad boy" image.
