297 with my doom tonight ... last shot came off my hand too quick and didnt have time to rev it up.. slid down the lane for 2-8-10

then shoot 212 not striking out in the tenth and finish with my widow and shoot 276 for 785... sadness haha

I just left my BW at the box surface (4000) and put it in the luster king for 5 minutes.  It's still VERY strong, just gets about 5-6 more feet down lane before turning left.

Checked your profile and I don't see a DOOM or a VIBE in your arsenal.

Hammer isn't making every ball for heavy oil.   Those just seem to be the balls that get the hype.

There is a user or two on here that think the DOOM is the most underrated ball EVER.

The ball is damn good.   Check it out.

Another option is to polish the BW.   That ball is super easy to change surface on.  Here are the steps.

1. take ball out of box
2. set in spinner
3. apply liberal amout of EBONITE factory finish polish with sponge
4. turn on spinner.
5. hold sponge on ball until polish is absorbed.
6. etc, etc.

All of this could take as little as 10 mins.   The ball is real good polished too!!!

I don't care what you hit the surface with, you won't get the reaction of a pearl, the pearl will be longer and stronger, with less midlane, still.  If you try the extender or some other, ultra polish type stuff, you may replicate the length, but not the snap and hit.

my thoughts exactly.Hammer needs to ride the sucsess of the widow with a pearl version.instead the bring out another med/heavy oil ball the "no mercy".I like the looks but don't need it or am I excited about it.if you want an early roller pick out something from the hawg series.

Guys Hammer does have a pearl ball.  The Doom is a pearl and is an awesome piece of equipment.  This is by far the best reactive pearl ball I have ever thrown.

I really feel that a lot of bowlers just like to see the new equipment come out.

Now with respect to the polish on the BW.  Yes polishing a BW will give you a very similar reaction to a pearlized ball.  I know it's not going to be the exact reaction but it will be close.

how is the doom compared to the sling blade?

I have two BW's. One is oob and the other I polished on a spinner using Black Magic polish. I'm averaging 243 after 5 weeks of league with the oob BW. After league last night I tried out the polished BW for the first time. Result: 300. It gave me the perfect combinatiion of length, continuation and hard arc (not snap)that one would seek after the lanes have transitioned and broken down on a THS.

I was looking forward to the pearl bw but for now polishing the solid up is a good alternative.

I have never seen a sling blade in action so I can't compare.  I do however know the Doom.  I have owned a few of these with different layouts on them.  This ball is just flat out awesome.

You really need to throw one to appreciate it.  Check some of the reviews about the Doom.

I can almost garuntee you will like it a lot.  This ball has amazing pin action.  It carry's everything!  Just an amazing ball period!
