BR & Hammer What do you think of a vibe with a strong cover
« on: January 12, 2012, 12:52:49 AM »
I personally love Hammer vibes my list of  favorites in order.

Blue, onyx, purple, cherry, midnight, blue urathane, and green.

I would love to throw a vibe with a very strong cover on it from ebonite international. I was thinking the full tilt 6.0 cover. Mabye even a new strong cover design for the ball. I think the ball would be absolute dynamite with a very strong continous motion and remarkable pin carry. Also a vibe that you could use on longer patterns. Hammer released a weeker version with the vibe core the blue urathane. I hope they go the other direction this time with a very strong cover. Thats my wish ball. If you like my ideas please comment mabye with enough comments Hammer will consider. Any other ideas for a vibes feel free to add a comment thanks for looking.

PS please release another reactive/onyxblue these balls couldnt be any better.

It would be interesting, but honestly the Onyx Vibe was already a really strong ball for the price point.  If they went with a stronger cover it would mean an increase into another price point, similar to what Storm did with the Frantic (core from a lower priced ball with a stronger cover).  However, it might just be a good counter-part to an Arson???

I'd probably love one with a stronger cover for longer patterns or heavier volumes. I match up so well with the core and RG and diff. I don't seem to match well with higher RG and diffs like with the Gas Mask core or the core from the Doom. If a core creates 2.50+ RG with a .050+ diff, I safe is saying it's not for me.

Don't forget all the Vibes are finished P4000 grit + a medium gloss polish. That's as fine and as polished as a stock surface can be. If you sand them to P1000 or P1500 and add polish, they'll handle more oil and hook more. If you sand them to P1500 or  P2000 grit and leave them dull, they'll handle even more oil, especially the solids, the Blue and the Onyx.

In today's environment, few manufacturers put really strong coverstocks on medium strength cores such as the Vibe's. Also remember that the Cut Throat coverstock, on the Blue, the Onyx and the Grape Vibe was Hammer's premium, strongest coverstock only 5 years ago or so. Think it the equivalent of Brunswick's PK 18 or Columbia's/900Global's Super-Flex resin.
