Each other!

Just trying to decide if either of the two newer vibes would work for my dad and the dry lanes he keeps encountering.  I've rolled the blue and emerald vibes.  So if anyone has rolled all 4 or even 3 of the 4 I'd love to hear what your opinions are between the 4 vibes I list below.

Blue, Emerald, Grape, Cobalt.

Also I think my proshop guy might be able to still get a Midnight vibe, so we can throw that into the list as well.  Greatly appreciate any help.  And Merry Christmas

Couple questions.  First is.....what is he using now?  Second one........Does he struggle getting the ball through the front part of the lane or is it more controlling the backend?

I really wouldn't consider any of the Vibes a dry lane ball.  Unless you put pin on axis or something.  I would look in a different direction if your father is in need of a dry lane ball.

I agree, if you want a reactive resin ball for dry lanes, I would suggest a 900 Global Desert Hook. It has a weak core/cover combo, and it is easy to control, not snappy at all.

Well currently he has a BVP Wizard... which he tried shining up but didn't do the job.  He has a Storm Reign, Raw Hammer Psycho, and a Columbia Wrath SF which is an old ball of mine,  I thought it'd work perfect for him but it just rolls too early for him. 

And to answer your 2nd question twohand he's having problems with the ball rolling too early for him and then having no energy left when it hits the pins, with the exception of his reign which is just too strong on the backend for him to control.  He's probably 15.5 mph lower revs... probably around 250 RPM.

When I say the lanes are dry they really aren't crazy dry.  I would have no problem going out there on that shot and playing with my hyroad, or reign.  But I have a higher ball speed to get through the heads and a high enough rev count to get it to still pop on the backend. 

My thought with a vibe of some sort...(probably pearlized) is it'll give him something that will get down the lane further but still give him a decent pop on the backend so he can carry out the corners. 

I'm also thinking about getting a cobalt for myself to fit between my hyroad and Green Gargoyle.  I've rolled my buddies Blue Vibe and the thing is almost identical to my hyroad in the way it rolls.  So if the cobalt is any stronger or about the same strength as the Blue Vibe then I'll pass on it,  If it is considerably lengthier and a bit weaker overall then I'll go ahead and pick one up.

Charlest, The Wrath SF if I had to guess is around 4000 abralon.  As I said originally, it was my ball originally, but I never had much success with it so I gave it to him to see if it would work any better, I don't remember what I did to the surface of the ball, if anything at all.  But now that it is drilled for him (proshop operator says he didn't change the surface of the ball) It seems a lot duller than I ever remember it being.  It doesn't even look polished.  I had suggested that we hit that ball with some snake oil and see what happens but the problem with that is he is having a lot of success with that ball in another league.  So we don't really want to change the surface of that one if we can avoid it.  And the 15.5 mph is at 45 feet on the Qubica/AMF scorers that I'm going off of.  I know some are at the pin deck, the speed sensors for this system are up by the camera that looks at the pins.

Another option for him to keep it in the same brand as the Wrath would be the Columbia Eruption Pro. It is a polished solid cover ball, with lowered differential, and is a very smooth rolling ball even on second shift leagues.
