Dark Legend on Dry Lane Condition
« on: September 06, 2016, 04:36:49 PM »
Has anyone experienced a weak backend motion of Dark Legend when the lane starts to break down? Does this happen because the ball is asymmetric? I am loosing my confidence in this ball....

If the ball starts using too much energy early it will not have much left to finish down lane. You will want to consider moving into more oil to get the ball down lane, or adjusting surface finish to help the ball handle lighter oil and get down lane better.

Ignite your game, and set the lanes on fire. www.facebook.com/ignitebowling  or @ignite_bowling

You'll definitely need to jump into the oil as the Dark Legend is typically best on Medium-Heavy patterns.  The other thing to remember is that an asymmetrical core will have greater flare potential.  Combine that with the cover found on that ball and that will help explain what you're seeing.

I would suggest adjusting the surface and/or changing your hand release with jumping in the oil to start. That should allow you to see some better results.

The easiest thing to do is go to a weaker ball in the bag. It's like throwing a Scandal on dry lanes. The ball is not made for that.

Ok. Thank you all for the insights. I have another question. If I sand this ball, will it hook more or be more appropriate for heavy oil? Because I am trying to buy another ball to add on my arsenal that can cover med-heavy oil.

it depends on how you have the ball drilled. You might want to try a P3 or P4. You can get a Scandal for heavy oil that will hook alot
