Deal is so crappy .....
« on: February 01, 2005, 02:31:31 PM »
That it works at the highly overreactive lanes at my home house!
This sucker that I hear really doesn't hook at many places looks great on this highly overreactive wet dry lanes.  Most balls snap hard with no hold area but the deal eats this up....smooth.

Most balls snap hard at this place The only one that didn't was a mediocre Pirahna Retro that didn't impress me at all but the deal stays smooth and gets to the breakpoint nicely.

Maybe top flight bowlers are using this pretty but unpopular ball and  striking up a storm!

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS if you want a wet dry shot smoothed out without a special drilling the deal is the ticket!

LuckyLefty I never really give up on a ball but, this one is different. The lanes have to have a lot of dry somewhere for this ball to work. I have had a little success pointing it at the hole. Maybe if I scuff it up it will handle a little more oil. On the other hand I read the specs for the Big Deal and it sounds like what the Deal should have been in the first place. Did Hammer recognize there mistake? This ball should be good for the heavy handed who need a control ball. I guess thats why my ball driller likes it but doesn't carry it in his bag (he's heavy handed) but, carries 12 bowlingballs everywhere he go's. Anybody thinking about getting this ball because of the deep discount shouldn't. Wait for the Big Deal.

Hey Lucky Have you tried putting a 800 or 1000 grit on it because a friend of mine said the same thing and he put a 1000 grit on it just to take of the polish and the ball had backend beyond belief. It will look dull at first but it will polish up quickly and keep the same reaction.

I'm tearing up many shots with mine.  This is still one of the best balls I've ever used.  I keep saying it but no one is listening, just bashing the ball and saying it sucks.  So here it goes again:

To see the full potential of this ball and what it was made for and can truely do, wetsand it with 1200-1500 grit sandpaper and go over it after every set with a grey/white scotchbrite.  This ball is too erratic at the high gloss polish that it comes with out of the box!

I think Hammer's strength over other companies is the excell at pearlized particle coverstocks.  This is a great ball so if you don't like it Lefty, send it over here, we might can work out a good trade.

Somehow I've given the impression I have one I don't!

A bunch of guys at my house have them.

Great for this light volume long shot at my house.
Very jumpy midlanes!

I know a lefty in my Monday night league that has been tearing up the house with his Deal, I think he leaves it at 600 grit and it doesn't overreact, nice arcing reaction to the pocket for him. He averaged 247 with it in the local city tournament and has been averaging between 230-235 in my most of his leagues with it...
