Doom supply maybe drying up
« on: April 09, 2008, 03:59:29 PM »
Guys, just a FYI, I know many of you have considered purchasing
a Raw Hammer Doom prior to the supply drying up. Here in Albuquerque
at USBC Nationals there are none to be had. I called Blockbuster
and ordered two they had on hand that will fit my needs.
They told me that they could no longer get the Doom from their
distributor because Hammer was no longer making the ball. My guess
is that as the various distributors supply of Dooms dry up that will
be it.

This could hold true of other Hammer Balls also. So if you are like
me and want certain top weights and pin out distances you may not
want to weight much longer on ordering a few.

A bird in the hand is better than two in the bush.

Thanks for the heads up!

It sucks to see such a great ball being discontinued.  The Raw Hammer Doom is THE ball that pulled me away from using Track.  I feel that's THE ball that started Hammer's popularity again like it had in the 80's and 90's.

I just hope Hammer uses that core in another ball sometime in the near future.

Not sure about that Chitown.  I thought Ebonite did an excellent job when they took over the Hammer name, especially with the first set of stuff they came out with.  The Blade series was probably the best low end market ball you could get at the time....and there was plenty of performance to go with it!!

I think they had a hit with the separation of the lines and each worked well with one another.  The new crop of balls has done extremely well.....but to say the Doom started it??  Not sure I would go that far.

Gotta believe the Black Widow had something to do with that also

The Black Widow shot Hammer over the top with popularity!  That's probably there biggest selling ball since the Ebonite take over!

I think the Doom made folks look at Hammer really really hard. Then the BW series came out and that was what put them on the top of the pile, so to speak, IMO.

I'd give credit to the Doom, Pain then BWs.
