Hi there,

I got a 2nd hand Vicious Attack and want to prep it for medium conditions, plugging and re-drilling it for a late reaction on either medium oil or a 40'+ sport pattern with dry back end boards.

Drilling will not be the problem - I have a very good contact - but what can be done with the coverstock to make it less vulnerable to dry boards? I think about polishing it, or, when this does not work or kills all of the ball's potential, scuffing it with a 1.500 grit abrasive mesh.

Has anybody made experiences with the Vicious Attack before and after polishing it, and how it reacts with these surface preps? Thanks a lot for replies!



Besides, I think a polished Vicious Attack should look VERY cool

I am a lefty with high ball speed and lots of revs.  That said i have 2 viciouls attacks.  Both are polished dont throw any thing dull have thrown both of these dull before i polished but i like that snap on the back so i polished them at different degrees.  I have one that is pin down below ring with cg kicked and mass bias in strong position.  This ball is just plain stupid it hooks early and flips hard and havent found enough of a flood for it.  Second one i drilled with pin above ring finger with cg in center of palm and mass bias in my track and polsihed  with extender polish.  This ball goes 50 feet and then looks like some one kicks it to pocket. gets down lane much farther thand the first one. hope this helps i love them both.

I have a few hammers and know how to nail the pocket with them!

i have one with matte finish. it goes so long, i couldn't imagine it hooking if i polished it. but then again, i had a 300 with the matte, so i think i'm gonna stick with it, lol.
