Faball Black Hammer - resurface?
« on: March 28, 2010, 04:15:51 AM »
I have one that I am having redrilled - while it's there I'm hoping to have it resurfaced - can this be done with a urethane ball?

Of course.  Any ball can be resurfaced & finished with what grit you choose.

What do you want it to do?

What lane condition(s) are you using it for?

Looking for a more controllable arc on light oil / dry lanes. I have a Hammer Burn, and at times it's too much. I was looking at a Urethane ball, but figured I'd pull this one off the shelf and revive it before investing in a new one. It was one of my go to balls for years when I bowled a lot back in the late 80's.

It can be resurfaced . Longer time to do it and does it smell!! Who ever does it needs to wear a mask!

Should've been around back when we used to resurface RUBBER balls, especially those LT-48's.

It was a 320 grit finish out of the box.

Thanks DrBob - any idea what the original finish was on the Blue Pearl Hammer?

About the same..

As I remember, the balls self-polished the more you used them..
