Good Hammer medium oil ball?
« on: June 17, 2005, 05:55:49 AM »
I'm finding I have either too much or too little with my present balls. (Big Deal, Sling Blade, ZC Red) So I'm looking for a ball that will fit between the sling and the Big Deal.  I've been looking at a few different options from Hammer, including the High Rev, Big Rig, and something from the Blade series, maybe the Saw?  I know it's a big gap between the Sling and Big, but I have to fill it!

The Big Blue Pearl, the Saw Blade, and the Big Block Diesel would all be viable choices, just depends on exactly what you're looking for reaction wise.

I prefer to play the track area and outside, I have tweener speed and medium revs, so I like a ball that goes long and finishes strong.

Splendor-  You have posted numerous times in an attempt to get info.

Purchase the HI-REV and then your fingers won't be as tired!

splendorlex,

As stated before, there is a HUGE difference between the Big Deal and the Sling Blade.  Just about every ball in the Hammer line will hook somewhere in between those two balls.

Since your looking for more of a skip/flip reaction, I would go with a Switch blade of a Big Block Diesel.  I wasn't a big fan of the Big Block with it's polished box condition.  When I put a Matte finish, the ball hooked a little earlier, not quite a sharp in the back, but a lot more predicable.  The new Big Rig is even more skid/flip than the Big Block.  The High Rev is a powerful ball, but it has more of a roll reaction than a skid/flip reaction.

I hope that helps,
