I responed to your previous post so, I'll duplicate it here to be sure you get it. Mine is drilled with the ring finger on the pin and a little deep. I'm told that lowers the RG. The CG is kicked out a bit. The condition I most love with that ball is a fresh medium oil shot. The ball revs up forever in the oil and snaps when it finds the dry. It hits hard.

I think almost any drilling will work with this ball. Its prob the most veratile ball on the market right now in the mid line for any company and even most high end balls. You can go with a label drill with pin above and right of ring with CG in palm. This drilling is label but it revs REALLY hard in the mid and snaps on the back. But you can put any drilling. Kick out teh CG a bit and make it more rolly, but i say put CG in palm and pin over and right of ring finger.

chitown would be your best place for anything about the Doom. I know, from talking to him, he'll want to know what oil you want it for, release, he's got 3 set for different conditions, so IMO, he's the man to talk to.

From looking at your equipment in your profile I would suggest this drill layout.  I would put the pin somewhere from 4.5" to 5.5" from your pap.  I would keep the pin above your finger to pap line.  I'm not sure what your pap is so it's a little hard to give you a better description.  Plus as Azguy has said what condition do you want it for?

My Doom that is in box condition has the Pin above the bridge(5.5" from pap) cg kicked right to 1oz and no balance hole.  This is my main ball.  This Doom is best used on med oil.  It works great on long oil patterns as well.  When the med oil pattern is shorter then I just need to play a little deeper or increase ball speed.  This Doom has a huge back end and great length.

I also have a Doom drilled stacked leverage.  With the pin above the finger to pap line.  This ball when it was in box condition had a more mid lane grab and a little less on the back end.  Over all it hooked more than the one I have drilled farther from my pap.  There was a noticable difference between the two just from the different drill layouts.

I ended up changing the cover on the Doom I have drilled stacked leverage.  I dulled it down in steps to 600 grit.  This ball will now handle a lot of oil.  It will cover a lot more boards than it did in box condition.  This is my heavy oil ball.

Now I have a 3rd Doom drilled exactly the same as my box condition Doom.  Pin above the bridge (5.5" from pap) cg kicked right to 1oz and no balance hole.  First I changed the cover to 600 grit.  I tried it and it was strong and smooth.  Not as strong as the stacked leverage one dull but stronger than box condition.  I then brought it back up to 1000 grit and polished it with delayed reaction.  I wanted to see how it would handle toasted lanes.  It was still a little too strong for what i'm tryiong to accomplish.  So i'm going to alter a cople of things and polish it like a marble with delayed reaction and see if that will work.

If all else fails and this ball doesn't work for toast then I will dull it to 1000 grit and no polish.  Then I will have a great ball to work along side my box Doom drilled the same.  I can pull it out when the box Doom is moving too hard on the back end.  The duller surface will smooth it out.

The Doom is a fantastic ball for sport type lane conditions or tough lanes that are not blocked.  If dulled to a higher grit like 1000 grit and no polish it becomes a great smooth reaction that transitions form wet to dry like you wouldn't believe.  Most skid flip type balls are hard to control on high flying back ends.  On most dry back ends the box condition works well but when dulled fear the dry back ends no more!

I hope this helps you in your decision on finding the perfect layout for this fantastic bowling ball.  This is the absolute best reactive ball I have ever owned.

Oh your going to love how this ball hits.
