Hammer Bowling Balls: The Mini Reviews.......(pt. 1)

Now presenting.....The Minireviews Vol. 1
All of my technical info is in my profile.

The Real Deal
-Hands down.....THE. STRONGEST. BALL. I'VE. EVER. THROWN....PERIOD.
*2 Drillings: (#1) Pin over Ring, C.G kicked 1 1/2 away from the midline, LMB in strong position(Polished)
(#2) Pin under ring, C.G stacked, LMB 2 1/2 inches from the VAL, box finish

...Enough with the drama, this is one serious ball.  Compared to other oilers I've thrown such as the Goliath, and Raging Inferno, Phenom and Unleashed, Mutant and Animal, Rule...The Real Deal starts up alot earlier, but never stops moving in oil.  Whereas the early particles like Goliath or Raging Inferno can hook and quit if they encounter too much dry, the Real Deal hooks in the oil and continues, if not gets stronger in the dry.  This is definately a particle ball where there is a possibility to go coast to coast with it and not lose energy on its way to the pins.  Pocket shots were VERY strong on impact, but they came few and far in between.  I'll admit, Both Real Deals were too strong for me to use on a 40 ft house condition, a ton of oil in the middle(near 80 units), dirt dry outside of 6.  Even though they are so strong, they definately give me a different look on the lanes than anything I've ever thrown.  To those whose revrates overpower their speed and need an oiler, DO NOT PUT THE LMB IN THE STRONG POSITION!  The ball is just that strong.

The Deal
-I already have an extensive review of this ball in my "Reviews"
I will reiterate, there's not many balls as strong and predictable as this one once you take the gloss off of it.  I have mine at 1500 smooth grit now and it's a completely different ball.  Still long, still strong, and it cuts through carrydown.  Excellent ball to use all night and chase the oil line inside as the night goes on.  Probaly the hardest hitting Hammer in my bag and that says alot since they all finish very hard.

Vicious Strike
-Drilling: 4 x 4 1/2, MB to the left of the thumb
This ball out of box was just too strong.  Even earlier than the Real Deal on a similar condition, but it rolled out and quit(even in 80 units of oil the 400 grit was too much).  I had to take this to the shop immediately for a surface adjustment.  I took a green scotchbrite to it, then went up to the Gold Scotchbrite pad which is around 1200.  I then applied some Factory Finish Polish(Ebonite) to get a light sheen on it.  Now we're talking business!! This is a true rolly particle piece.  Almost like first generation particles.  Hard revving and rolling around 30-35 feet and a smooth banana shaped curve.  No suprises in ball reaction here.  When you make a bad shot with it, you know it.  Great smooth piece to have for Med-Heavies and I can imagine it'd be an excellent choice on Sport Shots.  Too bad they're discontinued, but I do have a 15lber NIB on reserve if I want one.

Big BLue Pearl
-The Best Particle Pearl I've ever used!
Drilling: Pin over Middle Finer(5 1/4), C.G in grip(4 5/16), HMB on top of the thumb and a little right.  I looks like a lefty label layout with the pin over the finger but the reaction is SWEET!  Very good length, ignoring the heads, with a noticable lope in the midlane.  The read out of this ball is one of a kind.  With the swirling pattern, you can see the ball gaining revolutions as it gets down the lane, off of the breakpoint it is smooth and continuous.  IT is a bit carrydown sensitive, as it needs dry to keep continuing.  With this drilling I know that as soon as I leave 3 or 4 tenpins in a row, or a couple flat tens it's time to put it up because any oil in the backend will stop the continuation of the ball through the pindeck.  This Gasmask core is very unique and makes an incredible combo with this coverstock.

I hope these help....Pt 2, With the Saw Blade, Switch Blade, and Pure Hammer is coming next
