Hammer Demo Day
« on: March 21, 2004, 10:58:30 PM »
Stelton Lanes in Piscataway NJ, is hosting a Hammer Demo day on April 8th. They have a new pro shop in house thatput it together. I must say he's better than most in the surrounding area. I had him drill my Big Blue Pearl. It's working great and I intend to pick up another Hammer at the demo day. Just and FYI to anyone interested in Hammer products. Give a call and sign up for the demo day!

Slicko .. I'm in NC and can't make it .. but thanks for the notice anyway. I'd like some info .. just so I can LEARN SOMETHING! About 2 weeks ago they held EBONITE DEMO DAYS in my town and there was a charge for it. I thought the FEE was OVER PRICED and I'm curious to know what the FEE is in NJ? If you don't want to quote it .. I understand .. Thanks either way!

Joe,
We had a Hammer Demo days in January in Detroit.
The Cost was $30 but that went to a purchase of any ball within a month.
It worked out pretty well. About 30 bowlers.

That's what I'm trying to find out .. it appears that the PRO SHOP holding the event .. makes the price. If I'm wrong on that I apologize .. but that's what I'm LED TO BELIEVE! If that is true .. isn't it a shame what they are doing? In my town they wanted to charge $40 .. you would think that EBONITE/HAMMER would set a STANDARD for this .. it's such a GOOD THING that will be ruined by some GREEDY PRO SHOPS! Things like this anger .. what some of you will call .. THIS CHEAP BOWLER!

Ebonite/Hammer does actually make a recommendation on this, or at least our regional rep does.  We're having an Ebonite Demo Day this Saturday up in Connecticut, at the Old Saybrook Lanes.  Our Rep(E/H) recommended a charge of
$15.00, which is what we charge.  We had a Hammer Day at our other shop last month,
with 44 guys showing up.  We were charged for all of the lane usage.  We barely broke even, at $15 a head.  We also kicked in the $15 towards the purchase price of the ball, (or  10% if that was the bigger number) - to try and make it appealing.
We realize we can't make everyone happy all of the time, but we do try...

FREE/$15/$40 .. some of you people that have been around for a while will remember what I was saying about RALEIGH NC and the PRO SHOPS in this area .. This is more proof of what I was defining! It's beyond me how it happens .. and if someone told me they saw this happening .. I think I'd have a hard time believing it!

SHIPSTAR .. The company providing the balls has NOTHING to do with the sales/drilling .. they are there providing balls for you to become familiar with .. hopes are that they can interest you in thier products. SALES/DRILLING you still have to deal with the local proshop! TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE!

Joe,

You are correct.  Sometimes the manufacturer's reps (regional or touring)
will help layout balls for the customers based on what they've seen.
All of the demo's we've had and I've been to have had discounts dealing
with the demo'd products or that manufacturer's line...

For anyone reading this in the Cincinnati area, there will be another Hammer Challenge at Madison Bowl in Norwood.  The cost is $15, which includes 75 minutes of bowling, and a 10% off incentive if you commit to a new ball purchase the day of the Challenge.  Anyone have any questions, send me a message I will gladly answer anything I can.
