What does everyone think?

lets get some buzz going on here!

I just signed my new contract with Hammer yesterday and look forward to another exciting successful year with the best equipment around...

that being said...

what does everyone think will be replacing the newly discontinued equipment

1. Raw Hammer Doom   :'(  (will be missed dearly)
2. Blue Vibe (first adult 300 with this gem, will never be forgotten)
3. Raw Hammer Toxic (first adult 800 series with the green monster)
4. No Mercy (qualified through the TQR in Reno at the Constructionjobs.com
Championship with this aggressive piece of equipment)
5. No Mercy Beat'n (a trooper to open up the lane)

I am honestly CLUELESS to what will be coming out this summer around bowl expo time and am very excited for Christmas come early...

so lets throw some ideas out there... what does everyone think ?

one possible guess I have might be a new High Line since both No Mercy's have been discontinued... I have no idea what it would be, but am giddy at the idea of the possibility...

anyways Hammerheads have at it!!!

HEY GUYS!

I threw both of the No Mercy's and thought they served their purpose very well...

The original concept of the ball was during the time we all thought USBC was going to lay the standard down that we "couldn't have weight holes in the ball", this unique concept for the No Mercy was brought to the table. I feel now with the idea that once was with USBC not eliminating the 'weight hole' stipulation, the No Mercy really had no other purpose..

Again, I don't want to try and stir up anything because that is not how I do things but just giving an opinion...it maybe wrong, but I'm thinking it has some points into just why they decided to pull the plug. I'm pretty sure Hammer is going to have another HP line to replace them without a doubt.

On a side note, I didn't really drill that many No Mercy's and I was asked quite a bit about them. I think I may have drilled up a Beat'n for a buddy of mine but that was it...

Anyways, Hammer has good products and I'm sure Ussery has got some excellent stuff coming up on the horizon for us all! God Bless You All and thanks for reading!

Michael, I respect a lot of your reviews.  However, i'm with six pack when it comes to the NO MERCY.

I put most of the blame on the pro shops for screwing up the layouts on the NM.  I also give part of the blame to Hammer for not really making it clear with their first set of drilling instructions.  The current drill instructions they have for the NM are much better.

When drilled correctly the NM is a killer ball.  However, no ball is going to owkr great for everyone.  I do feel the NM got a bad rap because of the pro shops not drilling the ball correctly for the bowlers.

I have owned many NM(original) and it's in my top 3 bowling balls of all time.  Yes it's that good!  The NM performs great on tough, flat patterns! I've never rolled another ball that could make heavy carry down seem invisible like the original NM can.

It's going to suck to see this ball be discontinued!  I just bought a new NM and will buy as many as I can before there all gone!

I know alot of people who win throwing Ebonite/Hammer equipment. If I'm not mistaking, wasn't the PBA player of the year someone by the name of Chris Barnes and doesn't he throw Columbia?

It's the bowler, not the ball.

I agree in the sense that a really good bowler should be able to bowl with anything but sometimes it is the ball because some people match up better with certain equipment.

For the average guy who can't drill up a new ball every week, Ebonite;hammer; as of late die too quickly. They should be designing covers that will last, and offer bowlers a premium product to go along with the premium price.

I've heard it from people who work there that their coverstocks die too fast. It has a lot to do with the quality of resins they use as well as the oil absortion rate. They even said they have never cleaned or maintained coverstocks, meaning they don't have to. They just get another ball...

Most of us can't afford that!!!

I really think all this Ebonite ball death is a bunch of BS. It is my opinion that people just like to jump on the bandwagon and bash a certain company because everybody else is. I would venture to say that theres people who come on here and make stuff up just so they can fit in. I've never had a ball die on me and I've had plenty of Ebonite and Hammer stuff over the last few years. I've been around bowling of and on my whole life and pretty much everyone I know bowls, some bowl for a living and they to have never had a ball die on them from Ebonite either. The bottom line is this. If you take care of your equipment, you won't have any issues with ball death even from Ebonite. It may be true that Ebonite covers do in fact absorb oil faster but theres still no excuse not to clean your balls (lol) after use.

Ebonite bowling balls absorb oil quicker than other ball makers equipment.  However, giving a ball a simple hot water bath solves the issue.

The original NO MERCY absorbs oil faster than just about any ball i've ever owned.  With that being said it's still one of the best bowling balls i've ever rolled!  Everytime i've giving the NO MERCY a hot water bath it's performance came back just like new.

All bowling balls absorb oil to some degree.  Oil xtraction is the only way to keep the performance up on any bowling ball.

For me, they were the best thing Hammer has had since the BLue Urethane Hammer.

The Hammer brand didn't make the Blue Urethane Hammer, the Faball brand did.  Faball Hammer and Ebonite Hammer are 2 completely different entities.  Faball made a line of ball's named Hammer.  Ebonite bought the name and made it into a brand, and release balls with the Hammer name to sell more equipment.

Hey John and Chi!

Glad that we can agree to disagree...

And by no means was I implementing that the No Mercy series were bad balls. I've thrown both of them myself and had decent sets with them. The rest of the time, it was OPERATOR ERROR...

In regards to calling a company 'garbage' though, I have to say that each company has their own unique characteristics. Some may benefit, some may not. It all lies in what the bowler wants. I don't think any brand is garbage by any means. Every ball made has a purpose, it is just a choice of selection and what works for the bowler.

God Bless You All!
