Help with redrilling my Vicious...
« on: October 07, 2003, 09:02:44 PM »
I have the original Vicious reactive and have just got it plugged and am wondering how to redrill it?

I am a medium speed(16mph), high track stroker/tweener, PAP around 5 1/4.  I had the Vicious drilled rev leverage as a compliment to my V2 Particle drilled the same which I love.  The Vicious I thought would go longer and turn harder, well it really just went longer.  It underreacted in the oil and was flaky on the dry. It almost seemed like it was burning energy too soon on dry and oilier lanes.  I tried a couple of different surfaces, no substantial change.

The Vicious is a 3" pin and 3oz tw, and I'm thinking a 10:30 type drilling, something to get the ball to change direction, then maybe I'll see the backend this ball supposedly has???  I have a 10:30 old Tidal Wave that I pulled out of the closet that is covering more boards than my V2 Particle right now, so I was thinking of a 5X3 on the Vicious, maybe with the pin just above the ring finger, to give it some length, but will still turn over on the backend.

Any thoughts?

If you want a change of direction, usually, a stacked drilling will put the core in an un-stable position for a better transition. Say, 4 1/2x4 1/2
