Hope Sting Works?
« on: January 28, 2010, 12:59:42 PM »
Just a quick question for my fellow ebonite/hammer users. I have switched up my arsenal for the final time (for a while anyway). You can see my arsenal here: http://s647.photobucket.com/albums/uu195/tizzle08/Latest%20Arsenal/

The changes are the sharp noise has been replaced with a Track 505a drilled pin up, and a Brunswick Avalanche (lime green/black) for the burnt up stuff. I just ordered a sting for an earlier look to the magic action, as I have polished the ma to make it go longer and be more angular. The sting is pin under and will stay dull for the heavier oil. Will this work?

Hmm..Lets see what I have in this bag..Magical Action, a Nasty Spider, a very Sharp Noise, and a Spare Track.. how can I loose....

....HG-300(2006 w/Desert Heat)...299 (03/15/09 w/Agent Orange)...HS-776 (Hot Sauce Pearl & Ebonite Magic)

I just had to take the polish off of my Sting. The ball would not get back to the pocket.

If I were you, I'd probably go with a Mission instead of a Sting. I tried a Sting for heavier oil and all I got was over/under with it. It just wasn't strong enough in the midlane for me. The Mission is far more aggressive in the midlane and a great compliment to a polished Magic Action.

My update:

Hit the Sting with 2000 grit. Took it back to box finish. Last night I go 290-222-260...after not going above 570 the last two weeks with it.

i adjusted the coverstock on a sting for a friend of mine, because his was also giving him some over/under. so far the past couple of weeks he has done well with it at a couple of different houses. i believe we hit it w/4k. this way its not as violent off the dry, but still enough surface to get in the oil some.

tizzle,

Don't be afraid to take your Sting down to 1000 grit depending on how heavy the oil but you should be solid with that arsenal.

Hey tizzle, I really like how you have your jigsaw corner and sting drilled. Have you had much of a chance to throw the jigsaw corner yet?
