Insite on new coverstocks
« on: May 01, 2005, 11:44:06 AM »
Hey all, if you all remember a while back a post about hammer re-doing the coverstock on the Switch blade to make a stronger break point, well it is true. If anyone noticed, PA was using one of these new coverstocks on his switch when he won his last event (orange pin). Well, i was waiting for my high rev to come in, its on back order just like all of the hammer balls were. I though tthis to be weird. I talked to my boss, a hammer amature staffer, and he told me that in a conversation with a hammer guy, he found out that hammer is adding a additive to all of their coverstocks on every ball. These new covers will create stronger midlane reads and very much stronger breakpoints and backends. Just to let everyone know. I dont know when these new covers will start to be produced on the balls, but when i get my High rev with the new cover i will update everyone.

BowlerKidR,

I wonder if these newly updated coverstocks will come with different color pins to distinguish the difference between the old ones and new ones.

If this is the case, I might wait until a couple of weeks to order the Big Deal

no there wont. There will be no way to indicate whether the ball has the new coverstock by anything but the numbers in the label, which none of us can decifer what they mean. But you wont know by looking, you will know by bowling

BowlerKidR,

Let us know the performance of your High Rev when you get it.  I absolutely love the performance of mine.  It goes so smooth on the lanes with a killer backend.

What kind of ball is the High Rev?  I notice I can get it fairly cheaper than the high end balls.  Any other thoughts on this one?

Its hammer attemp to put out a good preformance ball at a cheap price. Its a preformance reactive cover, with the Viscous core. It was made to replicate the roll and move of the origional 3D Offset. They couldnt use teh same core because Mo Pinel(creator of MoRich) has a pattent on the core.
