Something to compliment my BW
« on: September 11, 2006, 04:58:33 AM »
I recently purchased a BW & drilled it label & polished it.  I have to say, i LOVE the BW, rolls great, hits hard(its a hammer, what more can u say?).  Although, the 1 league i have right now is VERY slick for the first game & a half or so.

My question is, what would u guys reccomend as a good ball to 1, either hook about 5-7 boards more than my BW, or 2, hook 5-7 less.  Im thinking for less, the Raw Hammer Doom. But im at a loss for what to get for more hook.

Also, what ever it is, even for flooded lanes, i HATE dull balls, they just roll funny IMO & i cant ever get the right feel for them(this is the reason i polished the BW, dull it just felt a lil funny).

Any suggestions?  Pain, hawg, hawgzilla?

Shawn

You can either go with a Hawgzilla or Pain.

The Pain for me is an early roller with a hard arcing backend.

It is very smooth when dull or shiny.

You can't go wrong with either.

IMO, depends on what you want to spend.

More $'s..HawgZilla
Less $'s..Pain

Just depends on what you want to spend.

The Pain would be great over the BW, but if you want OOB polish then Zilla would be the way to go.  Doom would be perfect underneath.

You have a few options here, although you are severely limiting yourself by polishing everything you get.  Since you like the reaction of the BW, you could go with another and put a stronger drill on it.  I am not familiar enough with the Pain or Zilla so I will not comment on those.  I personally would get another Widow and drill it pin down with the MB near your VAL.  Try the box finish on it...it is ideal for this ball.  I wouldn't even call it dull, since after a game or so at 4000 Abralon it will have quite a nice sheen on it.

I agree with raven on another BW.I just droped off my BW at the shop to have it filled and redrilled because it was only good for heavy oil for me.I would have kept it that way and just bought another but I already have a couple heavy oil hitters.the pro shop owner had thought I polished it untill I told him it was oob finish on it.it just shines up from use but trust me it's a strong ball.

I agree with Raven in that you are limiting yourself when you stick to only polished equipment.  When you encounter certain conditions, polished will skate right through and you'll have a tough time.

Id say consider buying a Pain or anoter Widow and leave them in OOB for something stronger than your current widow.

Just wondering, but would the Road Hawg fit in there anywhere?
