Is the No Mercy a true Heavy oil ball???
« on: November 04, 2006, 10:11:52 PM »
The reason why I ask is because I've been using the Black Widow for a little over a month now and I was looking to purchase a No Mercy...I've been reading all the reviews and watched the video...and they seem "somewhat" similar...and I wouldn't call the Black Widow a Heavy oil ball, more of a Med-Hev ball...so would the No Mercy be the right ball for Heavy oil or should I go with the Hawgzilla?

Would the Hawgzilla be a better choice or should I go with a lower grit on the No Mercy.

I have both the BW and NM and I can say that my NM reads the midlane ALOT more and just keeps going then my BW   I think with the right drill and maybe alittle lower grit the NM would work easly. Both the Zilla and Mercy are getting mixed reviews, 1 person says it hooks a ton the next says it doesnt hook at all. I say if you really like your widow go for the No Mercy

I have the HZ and two BW's. My HZ is drilled with the pin below the bridge 5 inches from my PAP and the cg kicked out about an inch. With this drilling my HZ is best suited for medium light to medium heavy (at best) conditions. The cover is only 4000 Abralon (same as the BW's) and its mb is weak (no marking). We had heavy oil last Friday in the Classic League and I could not get either the BW or HZ to the pocket. However, after league I practiced on a different pair and shot 300 with the HZ swinging it out over the 3rd arrow (guess we got the flood on the pair we had for league).

I'd like to get another HZ and drill it stacked leverage 3 3/8ths off my PAP, perhaps then it would be an oiler, but I think most people are going to discover that with basic drillings of 4 inches or more that the HZ is a great light to medium ball with great control and kick just before pocket entry. It's now my benchmark ball.

From speaking to my driller, who has one drilled, he said its NOT. according to him, its great on fresh, about 4 and 2 stronger than his pin down black widow, but on carry down, it looses most of its reaction and becomes a 10 pin machine. He said he prefers a black widow 10x over the no mercy.
