Loving the Raw Hammer Toxic...
« on: February 28, 2008, 12:33:57 PM »
I picked this ball up from a buddy just over a month ago. He litereally had like 3 games on it.. threw a new slug in it and called it a day.

In the last month I've shot a few good 700's, a 299 (9 pin) and just tonight I shot 258-300-246 = 804. This ball rolls just awesome for me, it definitely filled a whole in my game.

Awesome! Great shooting. I'm having the same kind of luck with the Doom. Just had it drilled, and so far so good, have 4 games on it so far...300, 237, 235, 256. Loving it!

Keep up the great bowling!

I havent figured mine out yet???  It seems that I have to really crank it to make it hook.  I'm thinking about changing the surface or getting an Anger also

What kind of shot are you bowling on? Normal THS? Knocking the polish off the toxic...putting like 4000 abralon on it probably wouldn't hurt.

I had my best from the Toxic on 2000, no polish, but that's just me.

Great bowling BT808!!

When I first got my Toxic, I couldn't figure it out at all. Took the surface down a bit and knocked off the shine. Immediately shot 278! Here lately, I've played with the surface some more, and took the surface back up, with more polish, and am now having great success bowling with it on broken down patterns with pronounced carry-down.

Don't be afraid to alter your surface until it suits your game!

I am on THS, League night, and they are synthetic lanes.  So, take it down to 2000???  The ball is just kinda unpredictable and doesnt react very much.  When it does hit the pocket, or even semi close...WOW...is all I can say

yeah i would say take it down to 2000 or 4000, it'll just make it start up a bit sooner, and probably hook more overall. you should see a big difference.

Sweet.  Thanks.  I like how the ball reacts at the end right now.  I just want it more aggressive.  Which is more aggressive 2000 or 4000?

you'll have earlier/more hook with 2000, but it will be less backendy than the 4000.

and to be honest...the difference between 2000 and 4000 is not that huge...but either one is a huge difference from polish.

Sorry you confused me??
The 2000 will make it be a more overall hook??
The 4000 will be more than "out of the box" and stay similar reactions to now, just more??

lol...sorry, re-reading it that is confusing as heck.

polish will be least overall hook...most length, most angularity

4000 will be more hook, a little less length, a little less angularity

2000 will be more hook (than 4000) less length (than 4000, and less angularity (than 4000).

The difference between polish and the abralon...huge! The difference between the two abralons...not a ton.

Hope that helped.

I tried mine, at first, at 4000 no polish. Went to long. Took off polish, nice....but. Went 2000 polish, nice hook, good backend. Went 2000 no polish and that, for ME..was gold. Good drive, hard backend hook was later than mid lane but not a pure snap. Hard to explain but our oil moves fast so I needed something "special" for what I see most.

Never fear mixing the cover, try one thing, might have to add polish, might need to take it off, just a great cover to play with and accepts changes great. It's one ball that you'll have to play with the cover to find the right one that is best for you.

Hope this helps.

BTW, it also depends on the polish you use. I used Factory Finish but didn't like the reaction. Changed to Magic Shine and that was better, but found, again for me, no polish was best.

lol...Thanks it did.  Just another question though.  What is the ball's condition equal to out of the box?  Is it polished, etc. ???
