Need help with new ball
« on: November 09, 2012, 07:50:07 PM »
I picked up a Ratchet today after reading good stuff about it. I had it drilled pin over the ring finger, CG kicked a little out. I have this exact same layout on my Storm Gravity Shift also, which I love. I expected the Ratchet to be more aggressive, but it goes really long and a mild back end for me. I took the polish off and brought it back down to 4000, but still not a huge difference. My gravity shift gets into a roll much sooner with a better back end. Much better.

What should I do? Sand it down more? I was expecting a much more aggressive ball.

Thanks for any help. I'm also a stroker who plays the oil track most times. My A game is down and in.

I would sand it to 500, then hit it with 2000.  Leave the polish off.  This should allow it to pick up the mids earlier and give it more teeth.

If that doesn't work, you may want to consider an x-hole to give the ball more flare.

What's your PaP and style? Just curious.

For me, I went pin down, bridge above pin. Gave me a 5 inch pin-pap, and this thing read well, and when it hit friction had a good turn.

I decided to polish it, because I made it too early with the pin-down for where I was, and...well... It goes sideways.

Edit:
Also, I'm a tweener, not sure of my tilt.
