No Mercy
« on: February 06, 2007, 05:43:57 PM »
Has anyone had a problem with the Mercy losing reaction. I use this ball three days a week doing league and clean it after every set. I did give this ball a "hot bath" about two weeks ago and it worked great, but should this have to be done this often. The ball is in the out the box finish and #1 drill. I am experiencing a lack of hook even when following the oil inside or out.

Thanks for the help, both ideas will go to use; hot bath and clean n dull in-between. Just for info, this was the response to the question from the Hammer staff.

"For your No Mercy, I recommend soaking the ball in a bucket of hot tap water for 15 minutes and repeating the process for another 1-2 sessions using clean water.  There is no need to use soap or detergent, and this process will remove the oil from the ball and will open the pores.  Let the ball dry out for a few hours and give it a try.  It is a good idea to do this every 50-60 games."

I had used mine probably 20 to 25 games... hadn't experienced any loss in reaction, but decided to throw it in the rejuvenator after reading other posts.  I was surprised at the amount of liquid that came out of the ball.  The surface was covered.  I think a regular maintenance schedule is going to be required om this ball..

S^2 this is true of any high end ball these days,  I keep my equipment well maintained and still lost my reaction from my Total Inferno in about 50 games, just rejuvinated, we shall see how that works, but it was drenched

Hot water bath is the way to go!  Some balls soak the oil up more than others.  The NM seems to soak it up quickly.  Just give it a bath every 25 games and be good to go.  For those that have never done this may be surprised at how well it brings back the reaction.
