No Mercy....AWESOME!!!!
« on: December 02, 2006, 06:33:58 AM »
Before I ordered my No Mercy last week I had asked a couple drillers around the area if they had any experience with the ball, both said they had drilled a few up and that the feedback was not good (they both had only used the #1 layout). On this site I gleaned alot of very useful information on what makes or breaks this ball in terms of drilling.

I presented a layout to my driller that was meticulous in so far as assuring the HART was on my track and that the CG was postioned in the POSITIVE quadrant. To achieve this the NM's pin, cg and Hart MUST be lined up properly with no major offsets of the HART. Most of the used NM's I see being sold have the cg in the negative position and the hart on or clipping the thumb. As well, I decided to not go with drlling #1 and instead compromise more between #1 and #7, this resulted in the pin being 3 3/8ths from my PAP. After league last night I tested the NM out and it absolutely blew my mind! It reved up like a Brunswick on Steroids (much like MoRich)and had as powerful a continuation as I have ever seen. The pair I bowled on were like night and day. On the left lane I had to stand on 32 and throw a big swing shot just right of 5th arrow to about the 7 board while the right lane was tight allowing me to stand on 20 and play just left of second arrow. Results: 258,300 (and this was after I struggled all night in league throwing a miserable 625 series).

The way the NM reved up in the backend was simply amazing! It had a decent midlane read but it really started rolling heavily at about 40 feet and didn't let up one iota for the remaining 20 feet. It kept the pins low and just blew the rack apart.

Drill this baby correctly and as Hammer says: "Have A Nice Day".

Drill the ball correctly and it is a wonderful addition to anyone's arsenal. Trust Hammer's directions. Just put the heart in your track and it will work easily. And if you don't like the idea of that because you drill everything else differently, or you don't like how it "looks"...well it's your fault, not the balls, or Hammers. I have a low track. And it still works wonderfully.

Remember when bowling balls were like Fords.....you could have any color you wanted as long as it was Black? Then came the color revolution.....and now...you have black coming back.

....and for those of us that are always messing around with diffrent layouts or span changes a black balls color match for plugging is a no brainer.

I have one question.Wallshot,do you track over you're thumb?just came back from drilling up my second nm,pin above ring finger[the ring finger just clips the pin}and the hart is 31/2 inches from thumb center.my pap measured 5"over and 1/8th up.the hart land in the 3-4 track ring.I'll know how it works tomorrow night,I hope I won't be disappointed.

No, I don't track over my thumb. My track is rather high but I have a fairly strong release which keeps it from rolling up too high.

If you drew a lne from the hart up to and just to the right of the "Y" in "Mercy" that is approximately the line of my track.

My pap is 5" and 1/4 up, very similar to yours.

That's awesome that you had this done correctly.

You know it's hard to figure out why bowlers have had problems with this ball.  Mine is drilled with the #6 layout.  I have the pin above the bridge and the CG is at 1oz NEGATIVE!  The HART is 3/4" left of my thumb.  My HART location is on my 3rd track flare ring.

Now some have said that the statics need to be positive.  That's not the case with mine and it rolls great and is very strong.  Now another bowler on here said that if you have higher revs it probably negates the statics.  So my release is not effected by the negitive statics as it would some lower rev bowlers.

So this seems to be an important thing to know.

We also have found that this ball is best to have the HART location in ones ball track.  This seems to be very important.  So I hope a anyone intested in this ball read this post.

For those that have decided not to get this ball because others have not had great success with there's then think  again.  The NO MERCY is an amazing ball.  It's very strong and the hit and carry is simply amazing.

I glad you got the layout right.

That was me and I'll state again with your technique you will negate some of the off hits that won't carry for others.

Hammer has admitted they should have NOT let go the misaligned balls.

The No Mercy is a great ball but not any better than many of the great balls out today.

I may sell mine.  Any takers???

I agree there are a lot of great bowling balls out there.  However there are some that are a little better than others.  The NO MERCY is a fantastic ball for me.  Just like the PAIN and DOOM.

Are you not happy with yours?

I don't track that high to get that hart position to land @3-4 flare ring.my first n.m. has the hart at about the same spot and it dose'nt quite get there, about an 1/2" under it.great rolling ball, started up in the mid-lane with an arc backend.not too much of a backed ball though so the second one is supposed to be a backend monster.this ball carries lite hits better than anything I have thrown, and I'm good at that LOL.again nice shoot'n there wallshot!

my ball is set upvery similar to that. My heart is swung a bit more to the left and the alignment of the pin cg and heart on mine is straighter.my best game with it is 221 ,but i havent been able to shoot with it on anything other than used ths shots . fresh oil is like ice to mine.
