what would be your general opinion of the ball?

I just got a used one with low games on it and was wondering just how strong it might be and what its true characteristics are.

I really enjoyed mine. I wish I could find a 15#. My old one was a 16# and I had to get rid of it. To me, it was similar to the original Black Widow and at times, mine hooked more. Enjoy!

Mine hooked a bunch out of the box, very smooth, but definitely faded overall strength wise and I never was able to get it back to the OOB reaction. It rolled smooth and was a good control ball nonetheless, shot quite a few good games with it.

I've had two of them. One was drilled 3 3/8" stacked leverage, and was in OOB surface. It was a very strong ball, and a great oil ball.

The second was pin under ring, cg kicked right, and highly glossed. It was a very arcing, predictable piece. From a THS, or medium oil it was money.

The ONLY thing I had with the covers is them holding up, and losing rection quickly. I clean all my stuff after every set, and don't run into "ball death", but it seemed the Anger coverstock loses power quicker than some others do.

Mine has lots and lots of games on it and is still going strong.

However, the center where I use it is using less oil now than they did when the ball was new, so can't say for sure that the ball hasn't lost anything. Just that I don't notice it.

Thanks for the replies guys. I like to try different stuff sometimes and had always wondered about this ball. Had a chance to get a low games used one for a good price, so thought I would FINALLY give it a whirl.

The ball is supposed to have only around 20 games on it and not used in the last year or longer. Do you guys think adding polish would help prolong the cover life? It will probably need some polish to get used on our shot, or at least smoothed to 4000ab grit.

I would agree with the cover fading .. when I first got the ball it had something special about it.. but after a while it just didn't have what it had in the beginning.
I will say that the ball carried really really well for me. I got carry, messengers , and strikes in ways that I have never seen with any other ball I have thrown.

This ball was best for me with a high gloss polish. Really brought the best out in it for me.

I polished my Anger within a few days of buying it (brand new) cause I needed more length. Have always kept it polished ever since, so maybe that helped it retain it's youth somewhat.

Thanks guys.

Think I'll give it a bath, see if anything bleeds out, then put a polished surface on it.

I've had mine for over a year.  Just sent it in for a resurface.  Not expecting too much, but it's generally been pretty solid for me.  Was my first ball out of the bag for a long time.

I have mine with pin under the ring finger and the cg kicked out. I found mine to be a solid medium condition ball. I would never have classified it as an oiler. The problem I've found is the cover polishes itself up very fast which tames down reaction. It has a good hit. I wouldn't call it, throw pins everywhere hit but more of a mow them down type.
