Original 2005 Purple Vibe?
« on: February 02, 2017, 08:42:08 AM »
I found this ball in my basement. I was wondering if anybody could tell me what Vibe this is by the serial #? The serial # is 52H3062. I believe this # makes it a original purple Vibe from 2005. I just saw a undrilled ball like this sell for 500.00 on Ebay.  Not sure what a drilled one goes for but I thought I would ask. I tried uploading pictures but couldn't get it to work. Thanks.

It's purple with sparkles?

That is the original then. I have one myself. I think it was the purple, then blue, cherry, emerald etc.

Nice!  Any idea of the value of one drilled?  Undrilled went for 500 on Ebay.

Once it's drilled the value is all but gone I would guess, even for an original Vibe. The undrilled ones go for big money because there are almost none of them left that haven't been drilled.

I would guess you might be able to get $50-$60 shipped for it. IF it's in near perfect condition.

The bowling ball market is really hard to measure. I am selling a lot of NIB older Ebonite stuff, Mission, The One, The One Pearl, Angular One, etc. I sold one of those balls for $250 plus shipping, and others aren't getting bites at $225 shipped. Now, obviously, used balls will bring even less, but you never know what you can get. If you find the right buyer who loved the purple Vibe and is desperate to find another, you may get $100 plus for it even though it's used. At the same time, you may have people claiming you're nuts if you ask anything more than $60 shipped. Like so many other things in life, it comes down to timing and a little bit of luck.

Exactly right Gene.

You can always list it for more and see if anyone bites then lower the price later if it doesn't sell.
