Well, the Ebonite/Hammer group still has Tommy Jones, right? I wouldn't be too worried about them - that guy is a monster.

I'm officially a ball junkie

Im very sad to say this, but as with other players, they all go to Brunswick for the money. Im sad to say this because i have to say that Brunswick isnt making the best stuff thats out right now, but Ebonite and Hammer really are making good stuff. Plus i dont feel that Brunswick stuff fits into PA's game very well. But only time will tell. He might also go independent and throw w/e he wants.

Thats a good question. There was a post a while back, and i would love to see PBIII (Parker Bohn III) join the hammer staff. Once again, this wont happen because Brunswick is paying him tone of money. But i think his style will fit good with hammer stuff. Plus he is a Lefty . Who dosnt like watching lefty's?

I never said anything about Brunswick not being good. All i said is that i dont think they are making the BEST equipment. Thats an opinion and you cant argue my opinion.

Back-to-Back years, Ebonite International has produced POY (Mika last year, and it should be PA this year, but if not TJ will win).  When a company has a budget and sticks to it, they have no choice.  I am sure at the halfway point, BG was planning for what PA was going to come to him requesting.....if it can't be done, then so be it.  As the link says, they are going separate ways only because they couldnt come to terms.  Mika, PA, & TJ are outstanding bowlers, along with every other bowler on tour......but hopefully this could be an eye-opener to the rest of the bowling world that the balls BG, Ed, & Ron Hickland are designing are FANTASTIC!!!  And.....if you havent tried a Big Deal, Real Deal, Big Time, or XXCel, because you are a diehard B, or Columbia, or Track user......you may want to rethink your choices.

At this point it has been VERY hard to get bowlers to convert back to Hammer because of history.......well, that is why the call it history, because it is in the past.  This is a New Era ladies and gentelmen, you might just want to give the Hammer/Ebonite equipment a chance.

Don't forget about Jason Couch and Doug Kent.  They both made the show earlier this year.

I swear Storm had the best performance for several years around 2003- 2004 and 2002 and 2003 and Ebonite wasn't far behind.

I agree with what Chris from Hammers staff is saying.  Those ARE some great BALLS!!

Brunswick was certainly dominating in 2004 -2004 season.  The addition of more midlane oil or a more viscous oil whichever it was they made balls want to delay their hook was a boon to their activator lineup!

Hey doc-  let me break it down for you.

quote:
Ok What has Ebonite/Hammer done to themselves to FIRST: let Mika part ways after winning POY and SECOND: Letting PA leave after his career season and probably POY? Unless they are trying to forecast that they can not possibly have back-to-back seasons of those caliber. They are either incredibly smart business men running that company or the most stupid company I ever heard of. News Flash!!!!! I can't remember any other Hammers other than PA with one if he made the show. I could be wrong, and if I am it was not more than once all season long.

DJ Archer was the only other player on Hammer staff.   Hammer has a limited budget, therefore a limited staff.

quote:
So I ask you Ebonite/Hammer Nation, Why the lack of props and respect to your POY's from last year and this year. And do not go and run behind your chair to scream that it was because of the cash. I think that you might want to pull all the stops to keep your equipment on TV. Ebonite should be thankful that they have guys like oh, I don't know the other POY possible TJ and the T.T. 2004 winner Mike Edwards tossing there stuff, otherwise you would not see an "E" ball on tv either. So make of it what you want, just stating the obvious.

The Doc

I will not run behind my chair, but I will say that I believe that money was the motivation, along with EGO.   Both of the players you mentioned had great years and were rewarded for them in terms of prize fund and by being named POY.(I believe PA will be)   I believe that both players thought that they should continue to be rewarded financially by the ball companies for their past achievements.   Hammer was ready to sign PA as was Ebonite with Mika last year.  From what I know, both were offered contracts and both were rejected.   The only reason I can see that a player would reject a manufacturers contract is guaranteed money.
