PBA member purchases
« on: July 16, 2008, 05:23:07 AM »
This post is directed to those people that order from Hammer/Ebonite via a PBA discount.  I am attempting to determine as to whether or not the issues I have encountered are common.  I ordered a One Re-release, and an Emerald Vibe.  My credit card was billed the day I ordered them.  2 weeks go by, and I haven't received either ball.  I call up to check on the status of the order and was told that neither ball had shipped, that the Vibe was on backorder and they were going to ship them together.  They then asked me if I wanted the One to ship, since it was in stock, and have the Vibe shipped when it was available.  I said yes, and they told me the One would ship that day.  Another week goes by, and I still have not received anything.  So yesterday I contact Hammer again.  They told me that nothing had shipped yet, even though the week before, I was told my One was shipping that day.  I was told my One was shipping yesterday. I asked what is the ETA on the Vibe backorder being filled, and they did not have an answer.  So on that order, one ball was in stock, and I have not received it after 3 weeks.  Even if it actually does ship this time, it will be almost a month from the day I ordered it.  The other ball in the order, I still have no estimate as to when I will receive it.  In the interim, I had also ordered a Venom, and those were released yesterday.  I was informed that mine would not be going out until next week.  Is Hammer notorious for this?  I would think that a ball that is supposedly in stock, should take less than a month to get to me, from a distance that normally takes 2-3 days via ups.  What is the reasoning for Hammer to take such a long time to fill an order?  If this is something that is going to happen everytime I place an order, I am just going to start throwing equipment from another company, that I know I can receive a couple of days after I order it.  Any insight would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks guys.

I have ordered a Emerald Vibe and Psycho on the PBA offer, and had no problem.  The only issue I have is that the Ebonite franchise doesn't accept phone orders, that would be a bit more convienient.  Other than that, the two balls I ordered were sent out ASAP.  Just ordered a Track Up-Rising, and if there are any problems with it, I'll let you know, but I don't anticipate any.  Hope you receieve your equipment soon.  Every company has glitches and hang ups that just can't be avoided, the key is how the customer service handles it.  The customer service usually is pretty good, so I would hope they come through for you on this as well.  Just as a side note, unfortunately if you switch companies everytime they have a product backordered or have a delay in a shipment,  you'll have gone through all of them within a year or two, lol.  Good luck in getting your equipment soon, and hope it works well for you when it arrives.

lol...good point Game.  It is not so much the ball being back ordered that is frustrating me, it is that when I speak to customer service, I get told something, and then they don't follow through on it.  That and the fact that noone I have spoken to there seems to know when the Vibe will be off backorder.  I have ordered a few balls from them, and had no issues, but I have problems with my orders more often than I have good experiences with them.

Tara was the one I have been dealing with, and the one that asked me if I wanted the first ball sent out since the other one was on backorder.  Perhaps she forgot, I don't know.

just curious, can I get the PBA discount if I am a regional member? not a tour member.

All PBA members get the price as stated by each ball company on the PBA.com website.
