Razyr - Surprised!
« on: August 10, 2008, 06:09:18 AM »
Is it just me or is the razyr a really great rolling ball. For our THS it gets a surprising amount of hook and hit power out of that cover. It is very predictable. I am thinking about drilling another one and putting some surface on it. For anyone with a good amount of hand, this ball is a MUST have

Well I'll find out how mine rolls tomorrow on a fresh ths. Just drilled it up today with the recommended layout.

My girlfriend just got this ball and rolled it for the first time today.  She does not throw a big hook at all.  The ball she had before was a tropical storm and I really think the hitting power is better with the razyr. Not to mention, this ball looks amazing.  Now I am thinking about getting one for when the lanes are burnt.

I have started to sell a good amount of these in the shop. I think that this is going to be the new Tornado/Scout/Power Groove. In our shop the ball is $89 and that is only $10 more than the entry level balls. The Razyr clears the heads better than anything on the market hands down, but it is still predictable

How does it stack up against the new scouts?

I havent thrown one of the new scouts or entry levels but the ball, I would guess, is going to be more predictable because of the stronger cover that allows it to recover from the out of bounds better than a scout would.

Got to try the Rayzr on some burnt up conditions and a fresh ths. Ball is drilled per recommendation on sheet. OOB finish. I actually had a little problem with consistency on the burnt up alley. Seemed to be a little speed sensitive. When I switched alleys to the ths the ball came alive. standing at 22 targeting 8 five feet past the arrows the ball was very consistent. Small pulls held and shots a little wide came back to the pocket. The pins mixed very well. I am going to see if I can use it the whole set in league tomorrow night. I need to find out how it does in carry down. Over all a real nice ball at a great price.
