returning to Hammer
« on: November 17, 2003, 04:01:59 PM »
I started my bowling life with my first real ball,a blue Hammer.I loved this ball and did pretty good for the first few years with it so I went and picked up that dark blue Hammer reactive, what a piece of junk.that totally threw me off of Hammer and I went to storm.bought an 'El Nino and loved it.then I tried Lane 1 with the first purple buzzsaw and also fell in love with that ball so I basically stayed with storm and buzzsaw's.many years later I won a diesel particle on a raffle,I didn't need this ball but I had it drilled anyways to try it out.I fell in love again!now with one of my leauges I needed a light oil ball and basically had a choice with either storm or Hammer and I picked a sling blade over a hot rod.I wasn't to sure if I made a good pick but on the first night I used it the ball basically paid for it's self.so now it looks like I came full circle and starting to use Hammer again.anyone else have a story like mine?

I never had much luck with Hammer when it was Faball.  The only one that I really liked was the Spike HPT.  The Ebonite Hammers are another story.  My arsenal consists of seven balls at present, and four of those see the vast majority of the use.  Three of them are Hammers: Diesel Particle Solid, Diesel Particle Pearl, and Sling Blade.  (The other one of the four is an Inferno.)  I keep a close eye on the Hammer releases these days.

Interestingly, I like the Hammers much better than the stuff coming out under Ebonite's own name.

I miss my old blue sometimes and wish I had never gotten rid of it.I don't think the new blue will be the same and I don't plan on buying one but it is prety cool to see Hammer bringing back a new version of old blue.the sling for me works great for light oil or if you keep it in the track when things dry up a little.for me with a negative pin,pin over middle finger and cg in the grip,it's still a strong ball.I tried it on a wall shot last night without much luck.ship it out in the dry and the ball snaped like a rubberband.kept it in the oil and left 7's or 10's.I'm not to fond of the wall shot but it seems thats what one of my leauges is starting to lay down.the sling outhooked my green bomb when shiped into the dry but on the same line my bomb held pocket and carried,go figure.
