Sauce Owners

What do those who own the Sauce think of it? I'm looking to buy one next week and use it as my oil ball.

I loved mine. It was probably the most rolly ball i've ever owned (3.5" pin to PAP layout).. But like all good things, it came to an end shortly. About 20 games it lived for, even after cleaning it each set before it went back into the bag, and wiping it with an oil absorbing towel every shot.

RIP 1st 300 ball.

I was really disappointed in the ball. For the 180$ price from my shop, and how well it rolled, it really disappointed me. I put it to 500 abralon and hot water bathed it for 30 minutes, turned it over for another 30 minutes with grease cutting soap and hot tap water, but the ball still didn't show its' true life back.

Are there any oil balls out there that don't die like this?

I wish there was something. I'm assuming equipment such as a 900 Global Break S75/Bounty, Lane#1 Agent Orange/Dynamo, or a Roto Cell/Rogue Cell should give you better longevity. I don't know for sure. I'm just basing this assumption off these company's reputation.

Hope this helps!

My first drilling on my Sauce was a 5 inch pin to pap (above my bridge) and 5 inch cg to pap.  That drilling did not suit that ball for me, it gave me to much over/under with the ball.  When it hooked it hooked very sharply, when it didn't hook it went very straight.

I plugged it and tried it with the pin at 4 inches (just below my bridge and the cg kicked out to the right and down by the thumb hole.  I don't need a weight hole since I use switch grips and they take out any additional thumb weight there might be.  This ball rolls much better now.  It is a much more useable ball, not so condition sensitive as it was prior.

I think my mistake was taking a very strong ball and putting a weak drilling on it.

I haven't heard about very many Cell's dieing, I hear about Ebonite and Hammer dieing all the time. Even some Track recently..buddy of mine in league had to have his UpRising (not a true oiler) put into the Hook Again kit, 48 hours later it hooked almost like new. He rarely uses it now in league for fear of it dieing again, and saves it for tournaments only.

Would the Cell or Rogue be more comparable to the Sauce?

The only cell that would give a true comparison would be the original.  With that said I have over 150 games on my Sauce I Bath it every 30 games like i do with all my bowling balls.  It still has the same reaction as it always had.  Good rolly motion.

i had a sauce ,sold it after 2 weeks and the guy i sold it to,who loved it ,doesnt use it much.it just wasnt much diffeerent than stuff i already had. the only ,"strong ball",that i have recently purchased that i truly like is the nvd.I think for the money you could do alot worse. Not the vg,or magic. Rogue cell looks good ,but i am totally done buying the next hot wonder to find out its really no better than stuff i already have.

Got my Sauce back in February and had it drilled Rico. IMO it is a very good oil ball, you just need to find the best surface for your style. I keep mine at 1000 abralon and clean it with Clean N Dull after each league night and have seen no loss of reaction. I have about 60 or 70 games on it. Haven't thrown a 300 or 800 with it, but a few 279's and a 753, not too bad.
