Spike or Nail Titanium??
« on: September 27, 2013, 01:00:24 PM »
friend currently has an Acid & Green Vibe & ready to get a new ball. bowls with no thumb in the ball. was thinking maybe the Spike or Nail Titanium would be a good ball for him. something that gets down lane, but doesnt get too crazy off the spot on THS. thoughts anyone?

I would recommend a Arson Low Flare... The Spike & Nail are balls that are more of a skid/flippy reaction for your friend... The ALF will compliment the Grape Vibe & Acid better for your friend... if the ALF hooks too much with the box surface, he can add a little polish to still fit in between... just my 2 cents...

+1 for the ALF. 1. Because of the initials, and 2, because people underestimate lower flaring balls.

Just remember if you drill the thing strong it will surprise you on the amount of hook it has for a ball that supposed to be for lighter oil  ;D

He wants it drilled similar to other balls. This way if he starts with it, he can start a little further right & just move in as needed. Definitely wants it to recover once he gets in though.

Got a buddy of mine who bowls without thumb as well.  He bowls with Arson and Arson Low Flare with success.  Spike wasn't the ball he looked for--gave up after 2 games and put it on his home shelf.   :o
In the bag:
Hammer Absolut Curve 2000 Abralon solid
Hammer Arson OOB
Track 706A 4000 Abralon Solid
Hammer Amp and Spike are up in line...to be hammered down!!!
