The 3-D off set core.
« on: February 01, 2007, 11:34:58 PM »
Why didn't Ebonite/Hammer buy the old 3-D HIGH REV OFF SET core from Mo?  I know he owns the core rights but why not buy it from him and remake one of the best bowlings balls ever made?

I'm also surprised that Mo has not used it on his equipment.  I know the Ravage core looks similar to the old 3-D core but not exact.

I'd bet he was not willing to sell it.

That's probably the case.  I wonder if we will ever see that core used again in any ball?

The Black Widow is the modern day Violet 3D Offset if you ask me.  Reaction & Popularity wise.

I disagree. With what I've seen of the Black Widow, its more angular than the 3-D. The 3-d was rather rolly IMHO.

I also disagree.  The 3-D high rev off set was not an angular ball.  It had an awesome predictable roll.  It was very strong and hit freaking hard!  I wish I never got rid of that ball.  I would pay big money for a NIB one.

I bought the Hammer 3-D high rev off set in 97'.  This was the best ball I ever rolled at that time.  Even today it's still in my top 5 of all time.

If Hammer could get there hands on the rights to this core and remake this ball just like the original it would be the biggest selling ball period!

I know Hammer/Ebonite made the HIGH REV but that wasn't close to the 3-D.  If you look at the ravage by Mo Rich it's core looks similar to the 3-D'S.  Not an exact but the shape reminds me of it.

3-D high rev is a very strong hitting ball.
Although I bought it drilled, it has the huge power to destroy the pins.
I used to play it when I was in Taiwan.
Very excellent ball on wood lane.
I like 3-D !!!!
