The anger and the pain? How much difference ?
« on: February 13, 2008, 02:26:21 AM »

Threw a friends pain the other day and loved what I saw.  Wanted to buy one when they were out, but didn't have the moolah at the time.

Now the pain is gone and the anger is here.  Might just go ahead and get the anger if I have to, but the pain is really good looking and gave me a great performance.

I have a chance to get a pain, just want to know before I buy.

From what ive seen, the Pain is all around smoother. Because of the core used, and the strong coverstock, the Pain had tremendous midlane and an extremely smooth backend reaction. As for the Anger, they used the same coverstock and the tweaked core which gives the ball a little less midlane with more backend recovery. Now dont get me wrong the midlane in the Anger is still very strong, and the ball is a great piece on heavier volume of oil. You will just see a little more pop on the backend due to the tweaked core.

I have a lot of experience with the the Raw Hammer series of equipment.  If you like the Raw Hammer Pain and have a chance to buy one, then do it!

The Anger is NOT the same as the Pain!  The Anger is a tad stronger in the mid-lane and backend!  Not too mention the reaction shape on the backend of these two balls are different.  The PAIN has a smoother backend reaction compared to the ANGER.  The Anger is also smooth but a lot stronger and will flip pretty hard on dry backends.  Of course lane conditions, layouts, bowlers style all come into play!

If you can't find a PAIN but want a similar reaction you could always buy a DOOM and take the polish off and bring the cover down to 1000 grit or lower.  This will give you a similar reaction to the PAIN.  Not exactly the same but similar.

The Anger is incredible. It is my go to ball when dealing with heavy oil. I have the surface at 500 grit. So smooth and predictable.
