The deal?
« on: December 09, 2004, 10:17:45 PM »
I have been seeing these around in pro shops and online for very cheap and I was wondering what I could expect from this ball.  No one in this area throws new hammer equipment, and I have heard not bad things but the ball is very unpredictable.  I have been looking for a good med heavy ball or a good light to med ball, could this be the ball for me.  I am a leftie cranker, high revs, 17 to 19 mph, I like to play the inside.  Any info would be great, thanks ahead of time

I have a buddy who is a lefty and he just purchased the deal. He is not a cranker by no means but he puts descent revs on the ball. For him the way he has it drilled, it is very controled, but can really move on the backend if your not careful. It seems to have a descent backend but has no over and under and will help if you want something that will backend but is very readable. The deal will give you good length, a little more length than the big blue pearl.

I have a 330 rpm revrate with around a 16mph ball speed with alot of axis tilt and about 50-60 degrees of rotation.

I drilled the deal(4" pin) with the pin over the ring finger, C.G kicked 2 inches from the center of the grip and the Mass Bias in the strong position. I knocked off the polish with a green scotchbrite so it's a little matted but still has some sheen to it. It gets great length but you can see the ball revving very hard in the midlane. The backend on this ball is STRONG brother. Very strong, and controllable. I'm thinking the surface is giving it exaggerated strength so I'd really like to try one with a weaker drilling and some polish for a good 1-2 punch. I'm loving it so far.

I heard it didn't sell for a reason.

It was a piece o' crap.

Oh by the way this piece o' crap just shot a 900 last night in Minnesota.

See Miscellaneous section regarding 900.

I've seen many of these things around town. Don't understand why many on here didn't like it, seems to be a nice controllable ball

I've had this ball for about a week and I love it other than all the seven pins it leaves me. I come up the back of the ball and like the control it gives me. I've tried to change my line a little and move back but it stills leaves the 7pin. I tried coming around it more and then it started jumping on the backend and was less controlable. I might play with the cover because I think its burning up in the front part of the lane. I like the control it gives me and I can hit the pocket all day. I won't be changing the drill. I'll work with it the way it is. Great ball, right up there with the Big Blue Pearl.
