The New Hammer Ball
« on: September 12, 2008, 10:02:16 AM »
Does anyone have any details ?  All that the Hammer rep told my ball driller was that it would be released in later October, be a heavy oiler, and be EXPENSIVE.  He said the hammer rep told him that his (my ball driller) cost would be about 20 bucks more than his other high end stuff...

I was just wondering if anyone knew of the name or any other info..

The Hazard has already been released, it wasn't what Hammer was looking for, so it ended up being released under the radar as a "limited edition" sort of ball.

20 dollars more than the other high end Hammer equipment?  Why buy it?  Heck one of the best Hammer balls i've ever rolled was the cheap Blue Vibe!

Maybe he meant 20 dollars higher than the widow line hammer has now, putting it roughly at the same as the NV's and the Rising line?

I don't know, it will be interesting to see what it is but I'm just sad to say I really could careless about oil balls, i've got a cell that rarely gets used.

Well, no its not actually, the No Mercy line is done and has been stated, the Whup'n release was a while back oversea's, its not the new high end ball.

Doubt is is the whupin..  Word on the street is that it is a new core design.. But again, anything above and beyond that is just a WAG.

I was in the shop when the rep was there...He didn't know the name.
Just said it was high-end and expensive.

seriously....who needs anymore hook than the widow series? no offense to anyone, but i just dont see a market for it. my gamebreaker and bite maybe, MAYBE have 30 games on them and they were drilled last year. i can only use them on sport/college patterns and on house patterns its all about vibes and under...and im not a huge rev guy...

I can see your point, but to many people I know, mainly that are strokers, find that the bite isn't strong enough for oil for them unless they really dull the ball down, which really isn't an issue, but some people think a dull ball is a dull ball and just want something stronger than having to adjust it.

Though I have personally not found a condition that my bite would work on at 1k abralon, I have to keep mine with a weaker layout at 4k abralon dull and hope to find enough oil or polish it and have it hook like hell on the backend requiring a longer pattern or a whole lot of volume to find use for it.

The only thing I have heard is Hammer is releasing a ball called the Sauce.  Don't have any other info than that.

It says in the newest pro shop magazine that Ebonite puts out that things are going to get messy.  Makes sense if it's the Sauce.
