I had my Onyx drilled up earlier today, I went with a tame drilling. I threw it along with my virtual and 2d. The Onyx vibe is wonderful on a fresh med oil pattern. Clears the heads good as I saw no squirting, it held in the midlane and the backend was hard and aching as advertised. The hit and carry was above average. The virtual and 2d worked just as good on the same conditions but playing with the Onyx vibe I was able to keep a line longer with fewer adjustments. I like the onyx vibe a lot more than I liked the ACID. I could see an Onyx used as a benchmark ball with the right surface and drill. I think I want another with a little more backend. The tame drill pattern I had put on it was no match for carrydown and thats the only knock on the ball if you want to call it that, I know some balls just aren't for carrydown and thats why we buy more than one ball. I give it two thumbs up.
