Vibe.....can it replace......
« on: December 30, 2006, 11:09:54 AM »
So I was talking to a guy I bowl with, who mentioned, perhaps I need a ball that reacts similarly to my Super Beast, but has todays hitting power.

I right now have 3 Hammer Balls in my room that I am going to drill up here pretty soon.  Black Widow, Doom, 4D.  My concern is that on my Friday Night league, the only good look I get is from the Super Beast.

Would you guys think the Vibe Blue or Purple, would be a pretty good replacement to the Super Beast?

I would assume it to clear the heads pretty easily, but would it be smooth off the break?  At this house I have to play down and in.  I stand at 17 with my left foot (i'm a lefty) and throw it up 10.  I find that I have a little room most nights if I clip 11 or 9, but other than that, I have nothing.

Would the core in the Vibe give me more hitting power?  I would like to be current as the Super Beast is 10 years old.

Any help truly appreciated.

The Vibes will hit very well. Both will get through the heads clean. Drilled the same, the blue one is smoother off the point where the purple one is a bit more angular

I think I will go with the Blue then.  I am a lefty, stroker, med revs, med speed, high tracker, unsure of my PAP.
I was thinking of putting a standard label drill on it.

I think with that 4 ball combo, I could handle anything.

Black Widow
Doom
4D
Blue Vibe.

Looks nice, but you could possibly get a Toxic to go inbetween the Black Widow and Doom.

I would go weaker than lable if you rotate the ball much, its certainly going to be a bit stronger than the beast.  If anything I would say hold on to that beast or sell it to me, cause the conditions I see a lot of you almost have to have something older to control them, the new stuff is too strong.

That is why I only bring the Super Beast for my Friday Nighter.  I haven't had luck on that condition in two years with anything newer.  The Super Beast at least allows me to get to the pocket.

It makes no sense to me.  I see guys throwing the newest high tech oilers and not having much of a problem getting to the hole, but here I am having the new stuff hook at my feet.

I like the Super Beast, but I don't have any area what so ever.  I can't carry light hits.  It's sad

My blue and purple Vibes are drilled identical.  Blue gives me about 4 more boards, hooks a bit earlier, and is a bit smoother than the purple.  However, my personal preference is the purple as I like equipment that is weaker.
FYI, I have 5 1/2" pins above my bridge on both balls with the cg in on my mid line.  Let me know if you have any questions.
