Vibe & Doom
« on: January 28, 2006, 01:13:40 AM »
My Question is, If I drilled the doom up weak the Hammer high RG drilling would the Doom be able to be used as a dry lane ball equal to the Vibe with a little more carry. They have the same RG and the same Max Flip Cover I think, so would the core make that big of a difference.

Why would you want to take a ball thats not intended for dry lanes and try to make it work on a condition its not suited to be used on??

Just buy a Vibe and use it for dry lanes. Thats what its made for..

i have both and they are both drilled same the doom is way stonger and earlier.  Dont think the doom is going to be what you desire.  why do you need more carry my vibe hits and carries just asgood as the next ball in my bag.

The Doom will work on dry lanes as long as you play a deep line and can coast to coast.  I use the my Doom, which is drilled with the pin above and in between the bridge with cg kicked right to 1oz no balance hole on dry lanes.  I use it mostly for med to light oil but if the lanes dry out I stay with this ball.  If your looking for a dry lane ball only then the vibe would probably be a better choice.  I feel you should spend the money on the Doom and drill it for length this way you can use it on med all the way to dry.  Eliminates the need for 2 balls for those conditions.
