Please compare Scandal vs Bad Intentions Hybrid
« on: April 10, 2016, 08:42:07 PM »
I have done 3 demo days since November.  At the first, I totally loved the Bad Intentions Hybrid.  It very much reminded me of my all-time favorite ball.  I just couldn't afford to buy one at the time.

At the second demo but at a different bowling center, I thought I would surely love the Scandal but it didn't work for me and I fell for the BW Dark Legend, which I bought.  I realized later that the oil that day was not very good at all, but the Dark Legend is still quite awesome.

Today I did another demo at the same center where I rolled the BIH and I tried the Scandal.  It was the best ball for me that they had and I did pretty well with it, BUUUUUTTT it didn't seem as great as I remember the BIH being.  I didn't think the Scandal had as much recovery if I missed my mark and I didn't think it was hitting as hard as the BIH.

It seems like the balls are supposed to be pretty similar and, well being new, the Scandal should be the superior ball.

So before I buy I was wondering what your opinions are?

Scandal is more ball overall, especially downlane
The BIH is earlier and more arcing
The Scandal is  a solid and the BIH is a hybrid coverstock (part solid-part pearl)

What I have learned from the EBI demo days and other places, is that the numbers don't mean as much anymore like they used to.
The numbers on the chart below say the balls are pretty similar, but in reality, they do not roll the same.
It's hard to pick a ball based on demo days, the shot is usually very easy and the ball doesn't really fit very well.
Either one of these will handle heavy oil

check out the comparison chart I did on BTM website

The Scandal was probably puking on the back with not enough oil. I've been able to make mine recover from pretty much any mark, and it's been my biggest oiler I've had in a very, very long time.
In the Bag:
Seismic Evo Hybrid
Seismic Evo Pearl
Seismic LynX
Seismic Axion
