Weird comparison question
« on: September 14, 2006, 02:16:55 PM »
The 2 balls im looking at possibly getting to go under my BW(drilled label & shined) in my arsenal r the Doom(prolly drilled fairly strong), or the Tomb Raider S.E. http://www.bowlingball.com/Bowling-Ball-4258/featured_item.html (more than likely drilled to skid snap)

Any idea if the TR would be able to do the job on dry to med lanes?

The Doom would fit perfect.  However I would drill it with a length/back end layout.  It would just make more sense than drilling it to roll early.

I agree, drill the doom fairly mild and/or for length/snap if you want it to complement the BW; might consider taking the shine off the BW with a grey SB pad.

I have 2 BW's, 2 Dooms and 2 Pains. The 2 dooms are drilled: 1) Pin above ring with cg in midline (nice easy arc with a last minute snap in the backend---very nice for when the lanes have broken down but are not fried). 2) Pin right of ring stacked leverage (good skid with a more aggressive midlane and strong snap---again, good ball for 3rd game but more prone to overreact than #1).

My Bw's are drilled for: 1) length and aggressive snap, and, 2) snap with hookset (carries high hits like nothing I've ever seen before).

Pains: Drilled same as the dooms.

Add a Vibe (or in my case a desert Heat) and I'm good to go.
