What are your impressions on the Blade Reactive??....
« on: May 02, 2005, 06:38:57 AM »
well just like what the topics says....looking at this to round off my hammer arsenal...along with the real deal and high rev...ive completely become a hammerhead after just throwing those two and would just like to get an idea on how the blade reactive stacks up...im looking play this on the medium to drier conditions and if possible drilling layout recommendations as well, thanks...

Medium to drier is probably not the best matchup for the Blade Reactive. It's a great ball, but handles more oil that the High Rev. You might watch to check the Switch Blade or a Sling Blade.

i guess i could play around the layouts to tame the ball more but then i guess itd be messing up what the ball was designed for...but i just really like how this ball looks...it reminds of my xception which is about the only non hammer ball i throw nowadays...

Yeah, Buddiesproshop.com has it for about $92 shipped on closeout. If you go pin above bridge or farther from you PAP with a surface adjustment, it would be great. The Hammer booth at Nationals was selling some for $109 drilled with inserts. I should have bought one.

i been looking at that since this morning...but i still need to figure out how am i going to carry all these balls with just a two ball bag...looking at the k&r roller i hear theyre pretty realiable...but thats going too off topic...well my preferred layouts with hammer balls, at least from the real deal and the high rev, is to have a pin above the fingers and either just have a label or stacked leverage...

Pin above the fingers or farther from your PAP and a surface adjustment would work well. Definitely get the K&R bag. I have a Brunswick 6 roller that K&R makes for them and it a solid bag with a great warranty.

Mr Lefty, i wouldnt recomend teh blade reactive for your drier condition. You can probobly get away with a tame drilling, but thats not what the ball is made for, so i wouldnt want you to waist ur time with the ball. Like mentioned before, the Switch and the Blade pearl are better options. Both will stor their energy more till the backend where they can release it. And both are made for med-lighter conditions. Before it was said to look into The Deal. Well, it might be just me, but my deal isnt good on dryer conditions. Its probobly because of the super aggressive drilling i have on it (pic in profile). All in all, i would say sling blade is your best bet. You can proboble pic one up and have it drilled for under 100 bux.

sling blade it is. You cant go wrong with this ball. The origional hammer core with this cover starts a beautiful roll and it dosnt stup until it hits the end of the pin machine. Great ball, i might get myself a third one. HEHE

You're joking right?   I personally had a blade reactive solid that I polished that I just loved.   Pin above bridge, CG slightly swung out- Man, that ball was  good.   Blade Pearl- Polished it up, put the pin at 6" from PAP- very good.

Personally didn't like the Sling Blade- the ball was just WAY to cover strong.

The Switch Blade is the best light oil ball in the Hammer line right now.  Although, a little birdie told me that there will be a few additions to the hammer line in this category.
