What made you all Hammer Fans.........
« on: December 01, 2005, 01:17:52 AM »
Correction:

For myself i wanted to try Hammer
again after Ebonite took over.
Using the Hammer Cores with the new
coverstocks are just a great conbo.
After i heard all the success with
the Diesel series i decided to try
a Hammer ball.

Now i own the Hawg, Big Deal, Big Rig, and High Rev.

They are distinctive from each other and all hit like a truck.

Plus getting advice and help from Brian Graham who is the Hammer Product
Rep is awesome.

Sorry Jason. I forgot that Hammer and Ebonite doesn't share coverstocks.

Copied and pasted from your other thread.

I have stated this fact numerous times on this forum, but no one seems to believe me, or listen.

HAMMER AND EBONITE DO NOT SHARE COVERSTOCKS!!!!

Brian Graham is the Hammer product manager.   He does not deal with Ebonite.

While I know these things sound trivial, I just get tired of repeating myself.

I am very happy that you are pleased with your Hammer products.   I am very proud to represent the Hammer brand, as the company is really doing things right.  I just wish I could convince more people than I already have.

Now, to answer your question.    Back in the Urethane days my dad threw the Red hammer, from FAB, and had tons of success with it.    I got my first Hammer as a used Blue Pearl.   I shot my first 300 with it.   After I got a little older, I was throwing my dad's old equipment and I was using his old Purple Hammer when I shot my first 800.    I was hooked.   I went to other companies when FAB folded, but when Ebonite returned Hammer to the scene, I immmediately took to it.   I have been hooked ever since!!!

Hammer much more skid flippy than ebonite covers, I tell this to Dave Wodka all the time i prefer hammer over EBO anyday since he sells both he does not really care as long as his customers are happy.

My newer Hammers are always carried with me nowdays and being i am crazy with over 200 balls that says someting for them they work and hit like MAck trucks. They should sign Tim MAck and put out a ball with his name on it, internationally it would sell like hot cakes. I hope i did not give Storm an idea on here hahaha

I've had recently success with an old Faball Blue Hammer so I wanted something with the traditional weight block. The black PURE Hammer has been a great matchup for me. I tried all the original weight block Diesels and found that three of the covers worked well and only two were consistent for my game. I haven't thrown the other lines yet (Vicious, Deal, Big Blue, High Rev, etc...) so I can't speak for those.

When I went for my first reactive ball a few years back I had done some looking online and thought that something in the Hammer Vicious line would be a good choice.  When I got to the pro shop however, the only Hammer they had was a Sling Blade which I decided would work well enough.  The guy kept trying to sell me a Columbia Hyde but I just thought the Blade looked cooler.
I basically learned to bowl (well) with that ball and I haven't bought anything but a Hammer since.

If you have success out of the original Hammer cores i would reccomed the blade series,i had 3(Prearl,Particle,and Sharp)but now only 2(sharp broke after 15 game, but where i bought it used it is over the one year warranty so)I also have a Vicious Attack i got in a trade but i cant use it yet(dont fit),I dont know if this will tell you how hard they hit ,but i went high at a torney 2 weeks ago and i thought i had left a 3-10.When i turned arround all i saw was a pin from no where come out and knock them down, now i how that this isnt all ball but if my OI would do that i would throw it more.I love my OI it is almost like my Hammer balls(the OI is the ball i feel more natural with)it just doesnt hit as hard on bad shots.I have an Eraser Banshee i got in a trade and i am here to tell you that ball hits like a freakin marshmellow!!!

First ball I could actually make hook was from the Diesel
line.  Since then I've tried some other stuff from basically
every manufacturer, but always find my way back to Hammer.
Track's Mutant is now the only ball that makes it to the lanes
that isn't a Hammer.

I too began my Hammer "membership" back in the late 80's with an original Black. Was hooked from then on! Added a blue urethane and a red pearl (still own this one) and suddenly had my first "arsenal". Quit bowling (not exactly sure why) after I got out of the AF and when I got back into bowling about 5 yrs ago I found my older urethane equipment just couldn't cut the heavy oil they were putting out. Pretty much missed out on all the Faball advances once they started producing resin and particle balls. Hmmm. Time to "rebuild" the arsenal! Since THEN have owned the following (in no particular order)- Spike HPT, Black Hammer 2001 (2), 3-D High Rev, 3-D Super Flip, 3-D Pearl, 3-D Maxxx, Jackhammer, Wheel, Sledgehammer (2), Truck, and this is just the Faball Hammers! New Hammers? Let's see- Blade, Blade Pearl, Diesel Particle, Diesel Particle Pearl, Power Diesel, Big Block Diesel. I'm sure there is one or two I missed, but you get the point. Have ALWAYS loved the reaction I've gotten with Hammer, old and new, so why mess with sucess? Recently have added a couple "non-Hammers" to the mix. These being a Green Gargoyle and Midnight Scorcher. Very similar roll and hit to my many Hammers, so it's possible I may add more Visionary balls in the future. I know there's a link between Visionary and Faball, so perhaps that is why I love both!
Anyways, that is how I became a Hammerhead. Seems like once a Hammerhead, always a Hammerhead! Right G?

my hammer obsession came about because my boss, a hammer staff member, would give me every single ball he owned when he was done with it. Hense, my hammer bowling ball collection.
