Yet another Black Widow question
« on: January 08, 2007, 12:21:50 PM »
I'm putting my hat in the hammer ring for the first time, ordered a BW today, should be getting it drilled Sunday.

Probably fit in the average category as far as things like revs/tilt go.  Above average in speed (around 20mph, trying to bring it down).  PAP is 5x1

My plan, right now anyways, is to drill the ball similar to the #1 pattern, but put the pin about 4" from my PAP as opposed to 5.5"  I had an X-factor Deuce that I had drilled this way, but I brought the cover down to about 1000 on it and it gave me a really good reaction.  The dullish cover got it to pick up in the midlane and the pin helped it save energy and give a nice pop on the backend.  It was the only ball I used that year in Knoxville and that's when I shot my best scores.  Can I adjust the cover and get a similar reaction or is the BW such a skid/flip ball by nature that I might be better off with a pin position below the fingers?

How much oil does this thing handle?  Does it take the soup dull with an arc drill?

Check out the way I have mine drilled. Just click on the link under my signature. If you get it drilled this way, you will be very pleased. I have mine drilled with the #1 skid/flip layout.
