It's been a while, I know, but I finally got a group of balls together that complemented one another and I haven't been drilling stuff up like a madman.
That, and I quit the pro shop over the holidays....that's another story.
Well, I'm back, and my first review is a doozy. Ballreviews.com regulars know of the Sawheads and how much they hype their favorite ball company.
People, this isn't hype, it's the truth baybee.
I had a couple of balls sitting in my office I had been waiting to drill, nothing spectacular (Frenzy and Silver Streak Pearl), but wanted something different. I've been reading about Lane #1 and how wonderful they are, but just didn't see what the big deal was. I put out a post for a Blueberry and got some responses, but Mr. Sterner offered me a trade deal that saved me some cash, so I got an Blueberry and an Emerald (that's being drilled soon).
OK, there's the back story, here's the deal.

Tested the BB in league last night along with my Tornado TPS and Pearl Elixir. The BB is a bit earlier than the TPS, but smoother off of the breakpoint. It was longer than the Elixir, but saved energy better and had a similar motion. I was really impressed at how it hit without covering a bunch of boards. Great control, just super, kind of reminded me of a Pulse (similar shaped core), but better....lots better.
After playing around and shooting 198 the first game, I focused in for the final two to see what I could do. I hadn't thrown the BB much as I didn't like the early look, but a little carrydown took the TPS out of play and the BB made its premiere. The first strike I threw with it turned heads, by the end of the game I had people asking me what I was throwing (224, almost lined up). The last game I finally get the angle right and proceed to do the following.
9/ (stone 9) X X X X X X X X X 9/ (stone 7 with an airborne scout).
Folks, the reaction is smooth and the hit is huge. In 20 years of bowling and close to 100 bowling balls I can never, ever remember a ball hitting this hard, ever. I don't know if there's magic foo-foo in the cover or if the core is just that good, but I've never heard pins go "CRACK" like that.
For power and control, the Blueberry Buzzsaw/C2 is it. Period.
