Which is the better ball. The SCB or the CB

I currently own the Blueberry and the Viper and im looking for a new ball.I have heard mixed opinions about the SCB and the CB. So if you guys could provide me with any help it will be great.

Depends.  Lane 1 states the SCB is only for HEAVY oil.  If you need a ball for that condition then its the SCB.  CB will handle the heavier side of medium.  Overall CB is usally a better bet, more versatile.

I have both and have adjusted the covers on both to get the reaction that I need.  That being said, the Cherry Bomb is my favorite.  Every one that I have sold have made money for the bowler, even me.  The Cherry is very versitle.  The Super Carbide Bomb rolls early.  The heavy load of particle will cause the ball to lose energy if there isn't enough oil.

By the way, I have a second Cherry Bomb sitting in my closet on standby.

I have both also, and would have to agree with the previous posts. I can only throw my SCB(Which I thank Howard Roberson for) when the lanes are totally flooded, which is what it is designed for. I throw my Cherry Bomb on alot more conditions. It is alot more aggressive than my Emerald Pearl, but the Emerald Pearl is very smooth to me. I have my arsenal laid out like this from most aggressive to least: 1- Super Carbide Bomb 2-Carbide LRG 3-Carbide Bomb 4-Cherry Bomb 5-Emerald Pearl 6-Pearl Viper. I do have an original Carbide on the way but am unsure where I will fit it into the arsenal. The first 2 roll up earlier for heavier oil and the Carbide Bomb begins the lengthening process to gradually get farther down the lanes. However, all of these balls have great hitting power. I have shot numerous honor scores with all of them.

Charles it will probably fit bewteen the CB and the Emerald. My wife has one of these and it is not quite as strong as my BB but the pin is above the fingers and she throws it like a 18 year old tossin a 6 pound house ball.... FAST!!!! At least 18-20 MPH...

I have both the CB and the Emerald and love them (have honor scores with both). I use mostly Lane1 equip (waiting for them to release a medium particle ball and a urethane and I will be all Lane1) and to me there is not a lot of difference in the Emerald and the CB.  Sure the CB will turn harder on the back than the Emerald but I see alot of overlap.  Even though the Emerald has a weaker coverstock the dual diamonds (without the flip block like the CB) make it start to roll sooner and I can pretty much use them interchangably about 98% of the time for a medium shot with decent backends.  You may want to drill your Emerald on the weaker side and hit it with some polish to make a bigger difference between it and the CB.  Just my opinion of what I have seen with mine on medium oil conditions on synthetics and wood.  Take care....JS
