Asking for a ball advice
« on: October 11, 2007, 06:54:39 AM »
I am tinkering with the idea of getting a LM ball and need some advice:

Mainly facing THS... around 38ft medium oil
style is a bit of a problem a I am in a change right now.. tweener for sure

What is a good all-around ball on medium conditions?

Your suggestion?

I am also thinking about the Rebellion...

Well I am not really "moving"...
All my equipment is doing fine I just want something stronger and considering all possibilities (also the Supernove )

The WorldClass Particle (as well as the Supernove) just seem to be a tad too strong...

Personally, I like either the NEw Standard with a light polish & a weak drill or the Big Kahuna with the stock finish and a "normal" drill. I find I can also use the Buzz, but I'm rev dominant and have the pin below the ring finger. If you need a high pin position or you have a lot of ball speed, then the Buzz MAY not cover true meidum oil.

Many people say the Sting can handle medium or more oil. It has a bit of a shine and has a light load of particles, like the NS, whereas the NS come with a "sheen" finish.

The Rebellion is not due out until November and it's likely to be longer than that, because the September balls were already delayed. Besides, it is an unknown entity. Until some reviews come out, we don't know what its abilities are.

If you're on Synthetics you may want to look into the Big Bang...

The Black Pearl has been the biggest seller for us and seems to work well for a variety of bowler styles and various conditions.

I'm currently using a Yeah Baby! OOB finish with the pin about .5" right and .75" over the ring finger and it works well for me on a THS.

I'm relatively a speed dominant player...

For a high load particle it gets through the heads well, and makes a strong arcing move in the back.  It retains more energy than you'd think it should and slaps pins silly.  It will also work on carrydown pretty well too.

It's discontinued but you can find them around, particularly www.bowlingballmall.com.

From actually watching the World Class particle pearl for a few months, it is the perfect choice for true mediums. It revs up in the mid's and has very strong backend reaction, since i can only afford a few balls a month now i will be getting one of these at the end of october as apresent to myself.

November presents will include The sting and Sure Strike if allstar bolwing gets back on ebay after being kicked off yesterday.
